My solar array is under-performing and I need to upgrade them. I am saving to do this now, but in the interim I need to be able to charge my batteries from a combination of PV and grid. Is this possible with my inverter? I see there is talk of a backup mode on the inverter but this seems to only charge from the grid and then use my PV and batteries as a backup to grid power only. This isn't really ideal and not what I am looking for.
Is there perhaps a configuration on the PV Master app where I can redirect just some of the grid power into my batteries and still use my PV array for consumption and battery charging?
Any guidance here would be appreciated.
EDIT: i see I have double posted. My apologies for doing so
Second edit: I wasn't aware that I could set Economical mode. What I have done is set the following in economical mode:
Charge time start: 06:30
Charge end time: 19:00
Power limit: 50%
To try to ensure that my PV powers my batteries and load during this time and my batteries aren't used. It will draw the difference from the grid
Discharge time start: 16:00
Discharge time end: 06:50
So if there is loadshedding my batteries can be used if need be and we use the batteries during this time as much as possible (up to 50% of the inverter capacity)
I hope this is correct and my interpretation is correct
