  1. Hi @RiaanC, did you ever manage to get your system to communicate as suggested by @Neurik? I need help with communication on mine.
  2. @Neurik, I have the blue Ultra Energy battery with the Luxpower. I have tried getting them to communicate as suggested but with no response. Are you able to share screenshot of your connection and settings so I can ensure that I didn't miss anything? Also when you saw WOW RS485.... I don't follow. I don't see anything like that on the battery nor inverter. See my connections
  3. I recommend watching the installer trainings on YouTube. It goes a long way to help you fine tune. I'm not good at explaining but have used the video to get mine to do what I want it to do. Each morning pv takes over load from Eskom, charges battery and will blend with battery if sun is low. Battery will carry me into the evening and back to grid as set and so the next morning the cycle starts again. I love it. The training videos are great.
  4. Hi guys, I just had two av receivers (Denon & Marantz) blow today after the Luxpower was installed. Could installing separate UPS units at each point help? Also, my wifi router also restarts which is not good when you are in a meeting or my son gaming online. A previously used a cheap clone and this never happened. Disappointed 😞
  5. Hi @Gwebu that manual doesn't exist. Where are you based I could know someone who can help you fix the error
  6. Hi, I'm interested in the panel if you still have it. I'm in Alberton. Please PM me your details to chat if still available.
  7. Hi @Paul Barnett, I don't think that any manual exist for that inverter. It has been requested before and I have never seen any posted. Also, I don't know if yours allows you to make changes to the settings but they usually revert back to what's programmed regardless of what changes you make. See if you can make any changes to the 1st two settings and go back in to see if they remain, but I doubt they would. Good luck
  8. @Jgjg that inverter is a nightmare. I also have it and it did the same. A not so elegant work around if you haven't come up with one, would be to install a switch between feed and inveter to manually turn your AC charge off when the sun is at its best. That way your PV will kick in and charge batteries and even run your loads. I did that for sometime as a workaround and it worked. It's not the best but will help you charge batteries using PV and save some cash when the sun is available. 🙈 Just don't forget to switch back to AC when sun is low or you start using batteries and might end up in the dark if power went off.
  9. @Peter Reed did you ever come right with the Sunmagic. I also have one of these and it doesn't accept setting changes. Just wondering if anyone has a way to rest it. I want it to only charge battery using solar but it just doesn't accept any parameter changes.
  10. Unity replied to ZSLJV's topic in Questions & Answers?
@ZLSJV, please provide details of the repairer on the battery. I have the battery and the guy who supplied mine is AWOL. Just want to have details at hand in case of any misfortune.
  11. Zsde, well put and I don't have any more doubts. This is what I love about this platform- unbiased feedback from user experience. I will make a plan to get the additional panels and look forward to a loadshedding free experience. Thanks again for your efforts 👌🏽
  12. Thanks zsde, I know the reading on the multi meter matched what the inverter read. I also noted on the app that at some points I get wattage spikes which then disappear after a few minutes/seconds and that baffles me. It makes me think there is an issue with the inverter. I take the point about possibly needing a 4th panel and will consider when spare cash is available. I just expected to see descent wattage being produced as I was told this would be enough to charge the battery. I have asked installer to come check and hopefully he figures out the cause. In the interim I hope no cables get stolen. 🤞
  13. Hi everyone, I'm new to the solar thing and have just acquired a Growatt 5kw invertor, 4.8kwh Ultra Energy battery and hooked up 3 panels (2×600w plus 1x540w). I'm happy with the system as it works fine during load shedding. But don't understand why the invertor shows that the PV is giving around 135v but generates between 1-6 watts energy during the day. The point of getting the panels was to charge battery in the event that cables are stolen so I can have power at night. But now this is not going to happen at 5watts. Is the power output normal for this number of panels? Or could there be an issue with the installation? Please help
