It´s not right. in SBU power is drawn from the battery in SUB power is drawn mostly from grid. Why mostly because the inverters behave sometimes weird.. In bypass you can draw more than 5kW but check the manual in the specs I think 6kW is mentioned...

There is a newer FW at least for the newer inverters available which addresses the fan noise issue. it is 067.02 and 068.02 and has a creation date end of 27th October 2022

with the communications the issues will appear. Trust me as soon you switch to LI comms the inverters will not trigger the AC bypass in some modes. Growatt has really big firmware flaws with this. That is also the reason as they are right now telling everyone who reports issues that their batteries are not compatible. The the own ARK modules are suffering of the same issues they are not mentioning... If you are not depending on the SoC of your batteries stick with USE modes...

I couldn´t share this experience with the Growatt SPF. Ín SBU mode P11 wasn´t overwirtten at my setup. I set P11 on my host inverter to 2A in my 3phase inverter constellation. This will prevent to discharge the battery when there is the grid bypass active as the SPF inverter in most cases take own energy from battery. So the 2A in P11 are enough to compensate the own energy of all three inverters taken from battery.
