Inverter repairs in Durban
Hi guys. I have an axpert type inverter MKS-3KVA that recently has a 09 "Bus soft start fail". Can anyone recommend a good repair shop in Durban that can identify which components failed and repair? I had it checked at PSS however they say it cannot be fixed because there are a lot of components that failed and cant be changed. They did not tell me which board had the failed components and quoted me for a new inverter instead. I'd like to get a second opinion. Please let me know where I could find a good repair centre in Durban. With regards to the fault code "09 - Bus soft start failed", is it most of the time caused by failed mosfets and capacitors? If it is due to these failed components, on average what could the repair cost be? Thank you

Axpert MKS-3KW-24VDC Overload auto restart issue
Yeah a 5kw system will be much better and hopefully some time next year I will upgrade it. However with the 3kw that I have we usually do not go over 800 watts continuously. Max probably 850 watts. Basically just lights, TV etc that is connected to it. On a rare occasion something might be connected that we forget which causes the overload issue. Probably once every 2 months or so. Im just confused as to why it does not auto restart when the overload fault is triggered.

Axpert MKS-3KW-24VDC Overload auto restart issue
Hi guys. I have an axpert/mecer 3kw mks series inverter. I'm having a weird issue with setting 6-Auto restart when overload occurs. I have it set to enable however whenever an overload occurs, the inverter goes into fault mode which is normal, however approximately 10s later it attempts to restart but trips within a second and back to fault mode. It will keep doing this until I manually switch the inverter off and on again. Has anyone experienced this issue or have an idea what it may be? Thanks

Earth and neutral bond from inverter output
Thanks @TaliaB. It did end up being a fault on the armored cable that had a short. It happened at exactly the period I installed the PV Panels which made it suspicious. But it's all sorted and working great. Thank you!

Earth and neutral bond from inverter output
Hi guys. I'm a newbie here and could really use some help... I've installed a voltronic MKS-3KW-24VDC inverter with two 12V 200AH gel batteries. It's been almost a year since the installation and it works great. I've decided to add two solar panels in the past week. With everything installed, I then changed program 1 to SOL and set my battery back to utility voltage, etc. The PV panels worked great and did everything as it should. There were no issues until later that night when the Earth leakage that is connected to the mains (utility/Eskom) tripped and upon resetting the breaker there was no power. The main fuse for my house located in the municipality box along the road had blown. Thankfully the municipality replaced it early yesterday morning and the inverter continued to work well with the PV panels until a few hours later the main fuse blew again. This time it did not trip any circuit breakers or ELs on my DB board... Thankfully the fuse was replaced last night, by this time it was dark and the PV shut down and the inverter was in line mode. However, the fuse blew again again! At this point it made me wonder that there might be a connection issue with the inverter but I was really confused as to why it does not trip any circuit breakers but blows the municipal fuse to my home. To clarify, I've never had this issue before and everything worked seemingly until the PV panels were installed and the inverter program 01 changed to SOL. I tried figuring out what is happening but I'm really confused. I came across a post discussing that the Earth and Neutral of the inverter should be bonded when operating in battery mode. Could this possibly be the cause?? I do not have any neutral and earth at the output bonded. If someone could share some thoughts if this could be the issue, and why will it only cause an issue with the PV panels installed and SOL as a priority, and not when I just have battery power as backup? Any ideas??

Axpert/Voltronic MKS-3KW PV usage
Hi guys. I have an axpert/voltronic MKS-3KW inverter with the MPPT charge controller. I’ve recently installed 2 solar panels connected to this inverter. The max PV input is rated at 600W which is very little however I hardly pull over 500W during the day. I have it set up to SOL as output priority however I’m trying to figure out exactly how this mode works… My understanding from the description is that the inverter will power the load with the PV power generated, and if not sufficient it will use battery power at the same time to fill in the needed power. However what I’ve noticed is that the LCD display shows a small amount of battery power being used even if the PV input is greater than the load demand. The power from the battery being used is not a lot, usually around 5 amp and fluctuates sometimes. An example of this situation was yesterday, where my solar panels were producing the inverters max input of 630W, and my demand load was approximately 500W and I would have assumed the inverter powered this load straight from the panels however the batteries were being discharged a small amount as well. I am just trying to figure out why this is the case and if there is any settings that I have wrong. I ideally want the PV panels to power the load, and only use battery power if the panels are unable to provide the full demand, as stated in the manual. Im new to this and might not be able to explain to the point 🙏 I will try my best Thanks guys
