  1. So I had the installer separate the panels onto two strings so I have PV1 and PV2. At 12:00 midday I get 2,2Kw coming from the 6 NE panels and only 900w coming from the 9 SW facing panels. All the panels have good sunshine at this time of the day. I cant understand why the SW panels output is so low since even though the angle is not ideal they are still in the sun. On the 6 panels I get 230v and 10.1 Amps. On the 9 panels I get 337v at 2.8 Amps. Can anyone help? Do I have a faulty panel?
  2. Thank you - Will have a chat with the installer about using two separate strings. Makes a lot of sense.
  3. I have a Deye 8Kw inverter that can handle two strings. Currently I suspect there are two series strings - one with 6 panels and one with 8 panels that are then paralleled before into one string before entering the inverter. This would be the reason why the voltage is the lower of the two at +_250vDC. (6 X 41v).
  4. I have 14 panels at 545w each which equates to 7630Kw but am only able to generate a max of 3Kw on a clear day at this time of year. I am wondering if they are wired in optimally and could use any advice. I am in Cape Town and there are 6 panels facing North East and 8 panels facing South West. They are on one string going to the inverter. At peak time all the panels are in the sun but the angle to the 8 panels is not ideal. My DC voltage is about 260vDC. Any suggestions on how best they should be connected will be most welcome.
  5. Problem solved - CT was on pin 3 and 4 and was facing the wrong way - Put it on pin 5 and 6 and turned it around. All loads now showing correctly.
  6. Looking forward to hearing how to solve this issue. My guy may be coming on the weekend to move the CT.
  7. UTP cable is unshielded so a bit confusing. Also What is the calculation you use?
  8. I have the same issue. If I set zero export to CT then the house load shows zero and the battery charge increases which is not correct as the house load is still working and grid supply doesnt change value. CT is located at the inverter but it shouldnt make a difference as I dont have non essential loads yet. I plan to move the CT when I put some loads on to non essential bus.
  9. So I will have to specify CAT 6 STP or FTP when I purchase the cable.
  10. OK great thank you. So Ethernet CAT 6 is definitely STP cable and should be fine using either 1 pair or four pairs combined into two poles.
  11. Hi all I have a Deye 8Kw inverter located in my garage which is just over 30m from the main DB board. I want to place the CT at the main DB board so I can set up zero export to CT for non essential loads. The twisted cable to the CT according to the manual can only be extended up to 15m, however I have heard that some people have had success extending up to 50m by using CAT 6 ethernet cable. My question is firstly is this true? and secondly, how many pairs of twisted wires do I use. One person said only to use one pair and another person says he connected two pairs together for each pole. Which is the correct way to connect it? Thanks in advance.
  12. I have just installed a deye 8Kw inverter and am very disappointed with the Solarman app as I cant change any parameters and it doesnt report in real time. What is the best solution to this problem? Should I get the Solar Assistant or what?
