  1. No wonder I could not find fuses 😄 l was looking for them on the motherboard. I have never bought a lottery ticket, but maybe I should 😂
  2. I was reading related posts on this forum, and it seems that there are SM fuses on axpert inverters as shown in the image below, so I decided to open the inverter and have a look. I couldn’t find any fuses, but I did find that the black connector to the display showed burn marks and was no longer connected and slightly distorted as if it had been subject to stress. I plugged it back in and was very very surprised that the display was working again after powering up. This is a very unlikely story, however I have no way I of explaining how only a connector seemed to have blown off, yet the electronics were saved Wtf. Anyway I have now installed arrestors on the ac in to the inverter as well as out, something I was intending to get around to…… you know how it goes. Very happy and impressed with how tough this inverter seems to be
  3. Hi all, My axpert inverter display packed up during a thunderstorm. Luckily, the inverter is still working. Has anybody had a similar experience and managed to get their display working again?
  4. Cycle them ie charge fully, use and recharge a couple of times
  5. Thank you. That makes sense now that I understand that function of the BMS. I can also confirm that, because after the first 2 hour loadshedding, the 200Ah LifePo4 battery was down to about 67%, then charged at around 30A for about 30 minutes before dropping. It was down to around 70% after the second and charged for a few mins before dropping. Thanks for taking the time to help.
  6. Thanks for replying. I am wondering why even though the inverter is set to charge at 30A, it is not, as I stated above. Yes, I want the charge time to be shorter, which is why I have increased charge current from 20A to 30A
  7. Hi, I am new to this, so please forgive a stupid question. I have a 3KVA Axpert type inverter set to charge the battery at 20A from the utility (programme 11) which I have just increased to 30A for the first time. I can see on the battery app PowBank the actual charge current. When it started charging after the last load shedding, it started at 30A as expected, but at around 30mins in, the fan slowed down so I checked the app and it has been charging at between 16 and 19.5A since. Is this normal? Or is this a function of the bms, or a heat dissipation issue? Any thoughts will be appreciated. Thanks
  8. Thanks, I will do. I do not know the answer to your question yet, as I am not currently using enough to get them to the discharge to the cut-off voltage (set to 21,6V) This last 2 hour stage 2 load shedding saw them drop to 96% SOC. I am only using a small 3kVA Axpert inverter for load shedding, but the reason for the overkill on the huge batteries is for when we get to stage 8, 10 and beyond in order to keep some essentials running for as long as possible. The batteries have a 4000 cycle warranty, so hopefully, they’ve should be ok.
  9. Both batteries seem to be fine now after cycling twice
  10. Thanks for the replies. They, (GC Solar) say they have to be ‘awakened’ by applying an external 12V to them. It’s apparently a safety feature for transport purposes. Never heard of this before. They use the app Pow Bank, and both batteries show only +-86% once fully charged, so I’m not happy yet. They said I should cycle them 2-3 times as the BMS may need calibration. I am busy doing that now and will revert with new information.
  11. I purchased two Champion 12V 200Ah lifepo4 batteries today and was surprised that they were flat, both measuring around 8,5V on the fluke before charging. Should I be concerned? Thanks in advance.
