Thank you! I had assumed using a custom mode would basically mean disabling the BMS so that it would use voltage levels instead of the BMS communication to manage the charging. This solves my problem.😀

In the Growatt manual it says that if Li is selected, the maximum charging current cannot be setup (Page 9). This applies to solar and utility charging. I have a Greenrich UP5000 connected with CAN BMS to the inverter. Even though it claims to be a 2C rated battery, the Greenrich manual recommends charging at 0.5C (48A) for better cycle life. At the moment the inverter is charging the battery at maximum capacity, which is putting unnecessary strain on the battery. Has anyone found a workaround for this to limit the charging current? A firmware update/external charge controller/current limiter/DIY Mosfet circuit? I would prefer not to have to disable the BMS just to be able to control the charging rate.

C-rating of batteries and number of cycles
Google does not understand my question: Is there a correlation between a C-rating and cycle life of a LiFePo4 battery? For instance 1C battery vs 2C battery running the exact same load of 0.5C at a normal temperature range. Is there anything in the chemistry affecting C rating that would cause a battery to degrade faster or slower?

Hello, First post on here. I originally bought a synapse 3.0kva 24 inverter with 6 x 100AH 12V lead acid batteries for load shedding before I knew anything about anything. I reckoned since DOD is what kills lead acid going for a large AH setup and using very little of the capacity would be smart. My batteries have sadly run their course, when I noticed the declining performance I installed 2x 460W solar panels to prevent higher DOD and maximize the lifespan. Sadly it seems my batteries are screwed now as they can't survive a load shedding session just running the bare minimum anymore unless the panels are providing power. My requirements are about 2kwh effective capacity, and the current 2.4kw output from the Synapse is passable but not ideal. I am torn between the following options: 1) Get 2x Pylontech US2500 24V batteries providing 5kwh total. This is quite an expensive option, if I ever need to upgrade either solar charging capacity or inverter output capacity this would be a big mistake. 2) Get 1x Hubble AM4 24V battery with 2.75kwh. (This is the cheapest option that should satisfy bare minimum requirements, but would result in higher DOD and shorten battery life). 3) Upgrade to a 48V inverter like the Axpert King or Growatt inverter, sell my Synapse and get a Pylontech/Hubble 5kwh 48V battery. This is the most expensive option, and slight overkill for my requirements, but could prove less expensive in the long run. I believe the firmware on newer models is also better and has better BMS compatibility so could improve battery lifespan. Trying to decide what would be the best bang for buck that meets my requirements without breaking the bank. Would appreciate any advice from the veterans on here.
