2 × Victron Smart MPPT 250/100
10 kVA Multiplus II
28 kWh LiFePO₄ storage
I’ve now expanded to a 20 kW hybrid setup:
PV Generation
DC Coupled
5.4 kW Canadian Solar → Victron Smart MPPT 150/100
5.2 kW Jinko → Victron Smart MPPT 250/100
3.5 kW Jinko → Victron Multi RS (MPPT1)
4 kW Jinko → Victron Multi RS (MPPT2)
AC Coupled
2.5 kW Longi → Deye SUN-M220/225G4 Micro Inverter (AC coupled to heavy load inverter output)
Inverters & Loads
Victron Multiplus II 10 kVA → Dedicated to heavy appliances (3 × 1.5 HP AC, 2 × 2 HP AC, 3.7 kW induction cooker, 3 kW oven, multiple water heaters).
AC-coupled to the Deye Micro Inverter, which steps in during the day to share load.
Victron Multi RS 6000 VA → Handles lighter loads (lighting, TV, sockets, etc).
Both run on separate house circuits (wired this way from the start).
Battery Storage
14.7 kWh × 4 (≈ 56 kWh total) LiFePO₄ banks
JK Inverter BMS (4 units, parallel linked via CAN)
Integrated with GX device via CAN
GX Device
Raspberry Pi Compute Module 4 (eMMC) + dual CAN hat + cooling fan in DIN-rail case
Running Venus OS Large
Chose this route to leverage Node-RED automation & extra compute power (also had spare Pis).
DIY GX solution was more cost-effective and very flexible.
DIY & Cost-Saving Hacks
Built my own “poor man’s Lynx distributor” using a SmartShunt + busbars — works perfectly.
AC Coupling Behavior
The Deye Micro Inverter impressed me: it reacts quickly to frequency shifts from the Multiplus.
At absorption (55.2 V), the system smoothly adjusts as the Deye ramps down.
The Multiplus manages frequency shifts to keep balance without issue.
I’ll post a more detailed review of the Deye soon, since there’s very little info here about its performance in AC-coupled mode.
Automation & Monitoring
Heavy use of Node-RED for smart automation.
Example: weather forecast automation (via Solcast) predicts next-day solar yield and adjusts grid-input allowance automatically.
Monitoring migrated to Grafana (self-hosted) → richer metrics than VRM and full data ownership.

bigbrovar got a reaction from TaliaB in SRNE Inverter internal design and Capacitor QuestionI posted this here so that anyone who want to buy this inverter can have a bit if foresight knowledge before they make their purchase. The picture of the internal layout is there for all to see. The SRNE HESP inverter is their offering to compete with the likes of Deye and Sunsynk at a cheaper price point. They range between 3kw-12kw. The units is an upgrade to their HES series which was released last year. The HESP add parallel functionality hence the extra "P".
I got one and currently just looking to do some component investigation before I finally install it. The outcome of the investigation is not for me but for anyone who might be interested in getting similar inverter to provide some insight (which I wish I had) since information is generally not available.
I did some search on mainly the capacitors of the inverter and here are my findings: - Kindly take all I say with a pinch of salt as I am in no way qualified to make some of this accession being no electronic component engineer nor having any certification on electronics whatsoever -
I found 2 type of capacitors on the unit. 4 big capacitors which seems to be attached to the AC part of the inverter and 8 smaller caps.
The big capacitor is labeled H305, 500v, 470uf and 105c It is made by a company called Lelon which from my search is rated for making mid range to low quality caps. I tried without success to find the exact specification of the capacitor especially the ripple rating and operating life but I was unable to find that information. The closest I found was from this capacitor made by Leaguer which was said to have a lelon equivalent is this link https://www.micros.com.pl/en/product/ke-47050035x50lt,90341.html. It was also the only link where I found any capacitor that matched with the specs I saw on the inverter. That capacitor is said to have a 2000 load life at 105c.
For the smaller caps they have the Samyoung label are seem to be listed here https://jlcpcb.com/partdetail/2975108-NXA_63V_2200UF_1840/C2827938 they have a lifespan of 10,000 load life at 105c.

Generally. The inverter is IP65 rated hence it follows the Deye type design of a completely sealed component side with glands for all wiring inputs. The sealed component enclosure sits on a massive heat sink powered by 2 up pushing fans. The inverter board is likely glued to the button of the inverter where the heat sink is attached (probably using thermal paste)
I am yet to use the inverter so I can not tell how well it operates especially how well the dual mppt would work.

No problems whatsoever, in my humble opinion nothing wrong with Growatt inverters.

bigbrovar reacted to Scorp007 in Choosing Between Growatt and SRNE: Seeking Advice on Inverter UpgradeAs you mentioned the battery problem is related to settings as the SRNE has all the settings that the Mecer/Axpert low voltage MPPT has. Then also a high bypass current of 30A on the 2/3kW unit.
Not sure what is different on the 6kW unit as the above is for the 2/3kW unit.
I agree on the Luxpower 6kW.

Can only comment on my experience with Growatt which has been satisfactory for my pure off-Grid system.
Have been using the initial Inverter since 2021 and expanded to a second one last year as I was in a similar situation as you, but in my case it was brought about by wanting to be completely off the grid and still run my household without worrying about overload. That requirement has been satisfied.
Considering your question and your reported stellar service of your Axpert, I am thinking why you don't consider a second Axpert in parallel, but I am not sure if your model can parallel?
Advantage of a second one in parallel is redundancy if ever there was a failure of the Inverter, then you still have 50% of the system to continue operation whilst the failed unit is repaired.

Growatt has put me off with them changing revisions on their inverters without documenting it properly. I have never considered SRNE as a premium brand but rather one of the cheaper brands, however I could be wrong here. I know someone who has a 24v SRNE inverter & battery AIO type of setup and he is not impressed with the performance (I think battery life, although chances are he just did not spec enough capacity as its a large property).
