Thanks for the information provided on the site - more than one can read quickly so will try and get more reading done.
I am contemplating a Luxpower 5kw hybrid inverter with Hubble 5.5kw battery (or the Greenrich). I live in a complex - we're still trying to obtain the go ahead for panels and with the regular power cuts (and a homeschooling teen) I am deciding to go ahead with part of the install.
My thoughts are to install the battery and inverter to the mains, which will run the essentials through loadshedding. The stove (which will change to gas) and the geyser will remain off the lnverter and run on mains only (when there is Eskom feed available).
I intend on connecting solar panels to the inverter as soon as the permission is granted. This should (in my head) power up the batteries and or the non-essentials during loadshedding - but here's the catch - is the Luxpower capable of doing this? With moving over to a gas stove, its just the 3kw geyser that needs power about once a day - is it essential to look at an inverter like the Sunsynk or Deye which handles essential and non-essential loads differently.
They come with a 10k price difference but the geyser can be timed to run during light hours when the panels would charge up the batteries (but means the geyser needs to be connected to the inverter but that would also consume 3kw of the 5kw capacity which is scary as theres always a risk of overloading the inverter)
So I am trying to convince myself of the correct route and any advice would be greatly appreciated. Sorry for the long story - and thank you for any advice you can spare.
