    I cannot see why not. As long as the output of your generator is stable and stays within the correct voltage and frequency parameters, you should not have a problem.

    As someone who provides technical solutions to end users, I can tell you that it is the suppliers' duty to design their product  in such a way that end users cannot cause repair issues. Technical solutions should not require specialist knowledge from users - especially if that product is a general consumer unit such as an inverter.
