Hi Help!(please) I have a borehole and pressure pump supplying a number of cottages using a 0.75kw pump. When Eskom is off we have no water. I am thinking of a few panels and an invertor to run the borehole pump to fill the elevated storage tank. I have a 3 kw smart invertor to which I can add panels. I am trying to delay buying batteries . Does this make sense or is there a better solution? TIA Brooks

Thanks GMAc, I am not sure what to shear the float means. I am trying to find a technician locally to assit me. I will go to Lithium in due course but will probably look at a bigger system at that stage. THX Brooks

Can I please ask if the battery charged reading on the screen is higher than 25% . Mine never goes above this.

Good day,Can someone please help me. I have a synapse 3.0v+ hooked up to 2 x 100 a/h Vito deep cycle gel batteries. I dont have panels at this point in time. We chose this small system because we have electricity bills of circa R650 per month and its purely for back up fop some lights ,dstv and router. These are my second set of batteries based on advice received that i dont need lithium if my settings are good. It was working very well until I connected the pool pump directly to the system in error.(There is a dedicated circuit to my DSTV , and thats where we plugged it in.) Now having taken the pool pump away we only benefit from around 20 mins of backup down from 2+ hours. I noticed that the led screen on the invertor shows 25% charged.It has always only shown 25% even when it worked ok. I contacted the supplier who told me i need a lithium battery which he could gladly provide. Thanks for that ! Why didn't you warn me when you sold me the gel battery? Questions are: Have i destroyed my second set of batteries? Could it be the 25% charged need changing as there is less time between load shedding than there was before. Batteries read 13.5v Any advice will be gladly received> (And yes,next time i will go to a more repuatable supplier and hopefully get the right advice.

Hello ,I am overwhelmed by the options,the technology and the potential for low qualiyt/scams in this industry. Can somebody assist me with some basics. I have a plot with multiple tenants all using gas stoves and gas geysers. I intend to start up with one section of four tenants on a single phase through a master DB board. There are four separate DB sub boards each unit has a micro wave,washing machine,router Tv ,lights and a few other light duty items. The section also powers a pressure pump(.75kw) and gate motor electric fence and alarm.) The usage was metered as follows; Daily peak 5.768 kw(although this included 2 no elec stoves which will be changed to gas.) Max per day 28.80kw Av daily use 25.8) kw I hope to put in more panels to generate during the day with less emphasis on battery back (for now) for residential although i would like to add security lighting . With the lighting is it better to use solar "street lights' or to add a few 100w lights to the above system. I have budget restraints but if i can find a decent system with potential to upgrade later ,any assistance will be greatly received. TIA Brooks

Thanks for the quick reply- I get that the panels wont work in the dark .🤣 Its all about getting the right advice ,not simply a salesman with a product to sell (and probably quite new at it as well.) I have 10 tenants split into 3 blocks . 8/10 use gas for water heating and cooking. 2/10 still using electric stove and electric geysers. The eskom bill is circa R4500 pm (for the primary phase for which we have the quote and monitoring.)R7500 in total for all three phases. I am not too concerned about battery back up, at this stage ,because i gave them all battery back up lighting and they cook on gas. Each phase has a block of units but the primary one with the borehole,electric gate and best tenants was quoted for as follows: a mobi plug 5.6kw hybrid inverter , 8 x 450w panels mobiplug battery Sl 51.211 Cost with installation coc etc circa R90k. If my priority is to save eskom costs from solar and power the pressure pump am i looking in the right direction. It will be a hard call to find (n.b. not fund,) R90k for a R500 to R900 monthly saving. The monitoring was for 14 days as follows: Av, 25.8 kwh day Peak 28.8kwh( prob 2 x elec stove and elec geyser,) Av monthly 774 kw/hr . Any help will be greatly appreciated. regards brooks

Help,so many options,so many scams . Burned my fingers once with a small system and scrapped batteries after 6 months. Received a quote after load monitoring of circa R90k but an eskom saving of R500 to R900pm. Pay back therefore 8 years ,best case without interest . I am not too worried about batteries at this point in time but will add later. Can i put in panels and inverter only? regards Brooks
