SunSynk Logger Integration into Home Assistant
Hello all, Marginally off topic but also on topic. Does anyone here know of a wifi enabled meter that's approved by CoCT? I'm wanting to set up a prompt and be able to load and track units via these home assistant widgets without having to go up to the box because it's in an awkward location and doesn't have a backlight in the dark. I've been tracking usage via home assistant and this sunsynk hass app but it's such a pain to go to the meter and enter in the entire 10digit string hopefully correct when i could just buy and copy paste into hass...

Excellent thanks guys. Even just this editing is tedious...I'm finding a new found appreciation for all the hard work @Gary Waterworth has put into this. @WazzaCPT im still interested to see your github fork when you have the time so i can see your flow cards etc.

After what @WazzaCPT suggested i see the issue where i can manipulate the nodered fairly easily. The issue was the 2nd inverter shows the pv as pv1 which is and not pv2. Then just needed to copy the attribute get from inverter 1. Now i just need to find a way to make a new sensor of Sunsynk_PV that is a sum of the 2 attributes.

If you could that would be great. I dont know the first thing about coding just barely enough to read and edit here and there... just enough to be dangerous not knowing what i don't know.

@Sc00bs Yeah just problem is I have dual inverters and the installer chose the more expensive sunsynk dongle. Will be costly to go back and replace, also don't want to go the route of hacking up my own DIY dongle in a neat installation with a strapped in pi or diy esp. But I'm watching patiently and eagerly to see what happens with more people adopting the sunsynk dongles and getting them as part of their kit by default. Also refreshing this forum daily to see if Gary has been migrated yet lol. I've managed to get the basics working for one inverter and can see 'success' for the 2nd just no values but should be easy like Gary says once things get going on Sunsynk side... their last update on the migration was March!!

Has anyone managed to get their template working for the 2nd inverter? I'm on region 2 but i don't know enough to add 2 sensors values together to make a single variable. I have PV1 on inverter1 this all i can see My PV2 is on inverter 2 I need PV1+PV2=PV Load1 +load2 =Load I can see the sensors but only says success not a numerical output. On the cards it says undefined. For pv2 and isn't additive for grid, load or input. Anyone have a working template or flow they could upload and share please? Ideally I'd like to see both inverters on the flow card.

Just had a random thought, assuming I have optimized and automated my system usage as best as possible. How would i go about calculating (using my real life average daily usage over a few months) the exact number of batteries i should have to not require grid. Like a constantly updating card showing "Average additional usage: 7.123kWh pd" "Peak nadir additional grid usage: 9.234kWh" "To maintain overnight charge of 65% across 95% of the currently monitored days [calculated from 3Jan2023 - 15Jul2023] you would require an approximate additional capacity of 6.2kWh" I say 95% as example to account for freak 3 to 4 day stormfronts. Similarly: To enter overnight capacity of 100% for 95% of the year [calculated from 3Jan2023 - 15Jul2023] you require 2300W of additional solar. Or even To enter overnight capacity of 100% for 95% of the year [calculated from 3Jan2023 - 15Jul2023] you are currently over-producing 3200W of additional solar power day. At next forecasted sunny day automation will begin to export 3200W of power to the grid once batteries are at 100% maintaining a charge of 100%.

@slipx & @-cK- Excellent work on the cards guys, just a suggestion to add a feature if you're open to it/ in the mood: implement additional info like rate of charge kWh (x%/h) rate of discharge (y%/h) additionally a display of 'approximate hours to full charge' with displaying the time at full charge assuming at constant rate (would be way more technical to also implement expected/ predicted solar correction). So that i can easily see at current charge rate expected full charge will be at 3pm vs 8pm aka indicating i should intervene if it's after 5pm... with a symbol changing colour etc..

I notice the sunsynk app for myself at least, offers no easy access to control inverters. I understand if home assistant automation is done correctly you actually should never have to go onto it but let's say on one particular day there's just miscellaneous usage that's not the norm, and you know on that day with solar and load shedding it won't get to where you want by a certain time, and you want to override certain things manually like a single one time trigger and afterwards it just reverts back to normal cycles eg. Easily accessible dash shortcut button to: Button press> override settings>turn on grid >charge from grid to 80% immediately. Then revert back once at 80% Is this possible with this integration?

I'd be happy to assist you with this, and just give you remote desktop control. If you agree to help me make my energy dash look sexy with 2 inverters 😆, and talk me through your process while you fiddle... I'm just waiting for the regions to fully migrate I'm still using the installers login details until the region migration is finalised. After that I'll be able to assist when i have my own login details.

Omw completely missed it! Thank you for pointing it out! Feeling daft...

Good day everyone, Has anyone managed to make a powerflow with 2 inverters shown in the flow?(in one plant)

SunSynk Logger Integration into Home Assistant
Ithink I've also just been migrated...My sunsynk connect app has also just started showing all zeroes for the flow card but if i go into equipment i can see all the loads etc but something funky is busy going on

Ghetto... but wouldn't it be easier for him to transfer ownership of the plant to a 2nd email address? And then rename variables and sensors for the 2nd account and run the nodered as a 2nd flow instance with the different username and password?

Thanks Gary! Not going to lie reading your work and how it's integrated is teaching me so much in other areas of home assistant, as a tutorial, and working with troubleshooting other things I'm trying to get running in home assistant.
