  1. I dont have any balancer or anything like that. what would i need and where can i get it?
  2. Have used the System maybe 20 times for short periods maybe an hour or 2. the normal load is around 300 watt max so the batteries shouldnt be dead just yet
  3. Morning Guys. iv had my UPS System installed for about 15 months now and this morning we woke up with no power. apparently the power went off around 2am and by 6 we were offline. my system consists of 1x 5k axpert inverter with 8x royal 1150 batteries in 2x 48v strings. I started investigating and checked the voltage on each battery first. the 1st string was all good at around 12.7/12.8 on each battery. the issue lies with the second string 3 of the 4 batteries were 13.2 and the other was at 10v. They were all purchased at the same time. iv bypassed the second string now and taken the 10v battery out and charging with another charger. what should i do from here? is it just a matter of them not being balanced correctly? your input would be appreciated
  4. Might work financially for me to start with 2 and then add the other 2. our daily usage is very little and we use eskom at night due to the cheap royal batteries
  5. Exact reason for my question. If it really is a canadian solar product and at R 2250 for a 325 watt panel would it not be a viable option?
  6. I have the old axpert 5kva 48v unit
  7. Does anyone have any experience with the Ellies solar panels? im told that they are canadian solar panels? im looking at putting up maybe 3 panels 265/320 on my axpert inverter. i currently don't have any panels and my usage is normally low at around 300-400 watts. at around R7 per watt its not going to break the bank any advise would be appreciated
  8. Where will i check the software version?
  9. HI Sidewinder UEl is utility on the unit. Mine is definitely set to Utility only. My average load at night which is normally the only time we home is between 300-400 watts. I would obviously like to make the batteries last as long as possible. The Royals i have are Lead Calcium not lead Crystal. so basically run of the mill flooded lead acid. Finding details on these are proving to be a little difficult, although many places seem to sell them. Having read a lot of posts about the BMV702 it is on my shopping list. I will have to try get myself more familiar with the whole setup still
  10. Thank you for the response Chris. have changed the last few settings
  11. I am in a similar boat to where wingman was. when it come to the setting on the axpert im LOST! I hope he doesn't mind me adding my question here. I have the RCT 5kva inverter with 8X105ah Royal Lead Calcium batteries. No solar and just using as a back up for now. Having read, i have made some of the changes suggested but also left as default where not sure. Below are my setting. Anything i need to change? 1 – UEI 2 – 60A 3 – APL 4 – SdS 5 – FLD 6 - LⱵd 7 - EFD 9 – 50Hz 11 – 20A 12 – 46V 13 – 54V 16 – SNU 18 – b0N 19 -ESP 20 – LON 22 – AON 23 – bYd 25 – fds 26 – 58.4V 27 – 54V 28 –PAL 30- ONE 31 – SBE
  12. So everything is wired up. Really happy with the outcome. My mate has a little OCD when it comes to labeling but at least you know whats what
  13. Richyv replied to Richyv's topic in Inverters
Thanks for the response. Manual basically says once all connections are made turn on the unit. system is online. now just to fine tune

Today we are finishing up rewiring of our db . Is there a start up procedure that i need to follow when starting up the inverter for the first time?
  16. My plan is to set at around 20% usage. We are removing all power hungry items and it will only be used to run 6 x3watt led down-lights downstairs. TV and Network Gear. Obviously as i change batteries after the additional of panels i will start adding items back onto the inverter. I actually only needed a 1kva unit to run the necessities but when as big as i could afford to allow me an upgrade path of sorts
  17. I will download the guide as soon as I've hit that magic 15 mark. I am fortunate to have a mate who installs commercial ups system so he is assisting. But will double check his work
  18. Thanks TTT. I understand the shortfall on the royals. For now it's going to be used for backup supply when Eskom is down. My plan is based on changing them in 3-5 years for proper solar batteries. Due to budget I felt these at 8k will have to do for now.
  19. 2 years after purchasing the Inverter i have finally started with the installation. As is stands for now it will be back up power only. I will in the next few weeks start investigating and researching which solar panels to install System comprise of a RCT Axpert 48v 5KVA inverter and 8X Royal 105ah batteries.
