  1. Hi All I wonder if anyone can point me in the right direction. I've got a diesel generator connected inline with my mains (connected to an automatic changeover switch). I've got a 3 phase 12kwh Sunsynk inverter. It doesn't know if it's Eskom or the Generator supplying its "grid" input. When there is loadshedding and the batteries are getting low, I want to turn on the generator and use it to charge up the batteries. The problem is that the inverter thinks it's Eskom connected and tries to power the load in the house and charge the batteries which overloads the generator and causes it to shutdown. What I'd like to do is use the grid peak shaving feature to limit the inverter from drawing beyond the generator's maximum rated output. I've tried all different combinations of grid peak shaving settings on work mode 1 and 2 and the inverter seems to ignore them all and draw as much as it wants from the grid and overloads the generator. Does anyone know how to set up grid peak shaving correctly? Thank you

  3. Hi All Has anyone looked at optimising their inverter settings based on loadshedding and forecast weather? I've been working on optimising solar usage by automatically changing my inverter settings (charge from grid, use grid, use battery etc) in order to minimise Eskom usage. I'm currently integrating the loadshedding schedule, forecast weather / solar generation, estimate house load, battery size to determine the best settings in order to minimise Eskom usage while not running out of battery / solar power. My inverter is connected via an Esp8266 to Home Assistant, which allows me to get info and control settings on the inverter. Has anyone looked at anything similar? I'm still busy testing it - but so far seems quite positive. Would be interested to hear from anyone else that's looked at this? Cheers Techno
