  1. Hi Guy, This is my new experience. Last Weekend a fresh new inverter SPF5000ES (3 days past unboxing), gave me an ERROR 02 ! The inverter just after startup displays more than 80°C of temperature. It's visible from the inverter display. The problem occured during night (no sun) and without any load (everybody sleeping). In the morning, I blast the inverter with my air compressor. Nothing changed. Then, I tested all 3 accessibles NTC's (heat sensors)using my voltmeter as indicated by @NathanL, in this post, thank to you guy ! But unfortunately, everything seems correct (between 13 - 15 Khoms)... Finally, I disconnected and started sensors one by one and switched on the inverter with the sensors disconnected to check if it gave me the wrong temperature (I checked on the inverter display using the down arrow) each time. On the last try I identified that when unplugging the sensor on the left heatsinks on the mainboard, the temperature indicate -25°C. So I replaced this sensor by picking up one on an old Inverter SPF5000ES broken and tested it ... and done ! It's work ! So, my experience is that testing the only value of the Khoms of the sensor is not the only thing to include. In my case, the sensor was faulty, but his resistor was correct. So, I did not test it with a lighter to check if values change, but if you have capacity to replace the old sensor, do it one per one ! Hope it will help somebody ! Take care guys !

  3. Thank you for your help. When I installed the new US5000 i setted it as a master battery using the can cable, and changing dip Switches (0001). All 4 others Pylontech (US2000C) are reverted to default (0000) . I made this when the system was switched off. So I think that the solar assistant failed to trap the battery capacity correctly because I saw that all batteries are synchronized, charging and discharging correctly at the same time (checked using front green leds). Maybe an inverter update can correct that, but unfortunately, I don't want to do it due to a full autonomous installation without any spare parts if the update fails. I will contact SA support to have a confirmation and back to you.
  4. I saw this in the dashboard of SolarAssistant : So i asked myself if the inverter really know the number of battery ? I replace this value from 4,8 to to 14,4. But, to be sure if the inverter send the capacity, i checked using a MQTT reader. I can't find this information. This is why i think that my Growatt Inverter don't know the number or capacity of my battery. Correct ? The following picture, send the data of the inverter.
  5. Hi Guys, I saw and i know that it is possible to add one new Pylontech US5000 to an existing installation including 4x US2000C and a Growatt SPF5000ES Inverter. And this is specified in the Pylontech manual. This is what I did, and it seems to work correctly expected that the Battery Capacity calculated by the inverter is wrong. SolarAssitant which is reading the inverter tell me a total of 4.8 kWh. It's like the inverter only see the master battery US5000. In reality I have 4 US2000C and 1 US5000. That mean (4 x 2,4K) + (1x4,8K) = 14,4K I don't know why, but the communication protocol is same, and the configuration of inverter haven't changed. Only switch Off and plug the new one has master Battery. Did you have any experiences with this weird thing and what is your opinion about this?   6. Thank you for the updates Guys. I understand that they have 2 kind of working mode With this inverter. You define yourself the parameters, but you have to manage all chargins parameters You lets inverter manage parameters, but now you could not set the battery input current. (Previously that was possible) Editings parameters like you said @zsde is not on my plan due to risk of battery overheat. Thank you guys, for your help another time ! You are the best !
  7. Today, I did 2 things 1 - I reseted my inverter. The Values of program 11 and 2 seem to be correct now. 2 - I placed between my inverter and the generator a circuit breaker of 20A instead of 32A. The Generator circuit breaker is a 32A. I tested and the 32A circuit breaker of the Generator has jumped before the 20A on the other side .... I deduced that the problem is on the generator circuit breaker... I will short it ! But, my problem is always the same. How to limit the current of the charging battery from the inverter in Li Mode Or, in // mode, will the inverter automatically manage the same generator power source ? Do you have any idea Guys or someone in the same configuration ? Take care.

  10. I think that the inverter have wrong parameters. when i check program 2 i can read that Max current is 80A. Mine is 100A... How it's possible ?
  11. Hi Guys, How could you set up the parameter 11 in the Growatt Inverter (max AC IN), when using Li battery ? I already did it with my previous inverter (on the same model SPF-5000-ES). But now, with the last update, I can't. My problem is that my backup inverter (main failed with a burned diode on MPPT board), make my diesel generator circuit breaker tripping. The generator is kohler sdmo 10 LC (10Kva) and his circuit breaker is tripping intempestivelly after 10 min of running of charging (4 battery Pylontech US2000C). The generator has a 32A output, connected to the inverter. All grouds wires are connected to each other, and generator in addition have ground wire ! In my data analyser (solar Assitant) i don't find any peak or problem. The generator push 4,8KVa and some minute latter ... circuit breaker tripping. During 1 year, i never had this comportment of the Generator and i suspect that the inverter cause the trouble now. This is why I want to reduce the power of AC IN in the inverter, but I don't see how to do it. If you have any experience, please let me know it would be appreciated.   12. Thank you guys for your explanations. If I understand correctly, here, the lowest temperature is about 24 - 26 degrees at night ! So in that case, the rest of the time, my real voltage is lower than the Array Voc. I checked, and in 6 month, I didn't find a peak highter than 380v. Do you think that I'm really closer to the 430v limit than the Growatt Inverter ? (at the same time, the MPPT board burned ....) I'm actually checking for a Luxpower 5kW Inverter reseller which accepts export to French Guiana. Another thing that I'm asking myself is about splitting my array in 2 subarray with 2 inverters in //. In that case, will i have exactly the same Mppt power in 2 arrays or will I have a little bit more due to the splitting or less PV surfaces radiance ... Maybe I will need by splitting to add 1 more PV in each array. But i don't find again Trinarsolar 40v reseller...
  13. I'm living in French Guiana. That means, rain, and su. ! the lower temperature here is about 26 degrees. Highes is around 35-40... And worst of all, is the humidity level which is about 85-90% depending on the season ! The real question is why people like me live here ! 😉 I think i'm under the limit, but in the top of range... I can't plan to base all my living installation on one single inverter, even it have a 2 MPPT. The risk is too important for me and my family. Here, there are no backup way fast. Lot's of things are imported. Especially electronics parts. But most important, i have fridge, freezer, childs and a wife... which consume more energy than each .. A third solution would be to duplicate another instance and have an input switch to switch if necessary to the house from one of the both installations. but this way costs a lot because it requires more battery.
  14. Hi, Really interessant points of views. Just to be clear. If I split my PV in 2 strings of 5 panels. If i resume : Option 1: Invest another Growatt-5000-ES and let it on the shelf (my previous strategie). Avantages : cost : Nothing to change (don't need to walk on the roof, buy wires ...) Inconvenients : Guarantee Replacements need little maintenance. Life duration of the component of the backup inverter needs to be included even if it is not used. Option 2 : Invest another Growatt-5000-ES and plug it in // mode Avantages : grow up from 5Kw Power to 10Kw of output In case of failure, nothing to change (only considere degraded mode) ??? confirm ??? Using real guarantee of material Split my PV into 2 strings of 5 PV panels (200v), and stay far to the limit of my 400v of my inverter. Inconvenience : Need to invest in 2 same kinds of inverter (my first SPF-5000-ES and my second are different, and the communication board works differently). Buy 1 RS485 + XCAN Hub to join the both inverters on the single battery string. (correct ? need confirmation ?) Buy wires and walk on the roof. Cost +++ Did I forget something ? About my actual expérience, and following your advice, I immediately checked my MPPT voltage. I Think that you all said it right ! I'm close to the limit of the MPPT board (120VDC-430VDC). for me, initially I thought that it's correct to be 40-60v under the limit... I fail ! My last 30 days of MPPT voltage. some last things is to take the decision with your excellents advices guys.. - Luxpower SNA5000 is not listed as compatible with Pylontech US2000C-5000. Can you confirm that it can communicate ? - do you think that Luxpower is better than Growatt ? - If you recommend Luxpower, i saw that only Luxpower 5kW and Luxpower 12kW hybrid are supported by solarassistant. https://solar-assistant.io/explore/luxpower#hero Any of yo uhave experience with it ? big thank you guys.   15. Hi guys. My situation is this one. I'm completely autonomous, off grid and i'm working actually with : - 1 inverter 5kva (Growatt SPF-5000-ES ) - 10Pv 400W TrinarSolar - 4 Pylontech US2000C battery - 1 generator Diesel 10Kva For an unknown reason, my inverter MPPT board has failed (1 diode burned). I replaced my inverter by a another one SPF5000ES. But due to my isolated situation, i need to order a backup inverter. I'm using solar-assistant.io solution to monitor my installation. This last monitoring solution is compatible with a lot's of kind of inverter (Axpert, voltronic, Growatt, Deye, SunSynk/Sol-Ark, EASUN/PowMr/Powland, EG4, Luxpower, Megarevo, MUST, InfiniSolar ....) With yours experiences, please tell me if you recommend me to order another one same Growatt model, or you preconise another mark, but including a similar configuration. They are many and many model. I'm perturbated to take a decision Thank for reading.
  16. I blowed air in the inverter using a air pistol and passing under fans. It's solve my problem. I really thing that dust or something made the sensor fail. Problem solved.

  18. Hi Guys, Sorry for my response delay due to some diseases thank you for your help. Configured now my inverter has you tell me. Before that, program 1 was to SUB. I define program 11 to 70A. SPF 5000 ES :Default 30A, 0A~80A Settable. I set to 70A to avoid to be close that the charging limitation of my inverter. Yes, i'm totally autonomous. Leaving outside of city, in middle of forest. No grid, and water connexion. I'm using Water drilling, and PV solution, and Starlink ! Thank for you help guys. I'll keep you informed
  19. Hi guys, I have a question about inverter Charger source priority. My inverter is a Growatt SPF5000ES firm 068-01-1.04. I have also : - 1x Diesel 10Kva Generator connected to the inverter to the Grid input of the inverter. - 10x PV 400W - 4 Battery Pylontech US2000C. The system works fine, but my problem is that when I manually switch on my generator to charge my battery, due to some poor sunlight, the inverter does not charge the battery until I physically disconnect my PV input using the input breaker. Example, if the sun power is not sufficient and the generator is starting, the battery will not charge. The only way to charge using the generator is to manually switch off my pv input to the inverter, and now it work ! Growatt manual says that : My actual configuration set is "Solar and Utility" , but unfortunately, the inverter doesn't care about the generator until the PV input is not cutted off. If some of you guys have any idea why.... Any help is appreciated. Tank for reading.
  20. Hello My friend, Connecting the Inverter to the Generator is not hard. Look in the manual about "Dry Contact Signal" instead of ATS. The Dry contact is like a simple light switch. When the inverter tell that the battery is low, then the dry contact switches to another position. You can wire it as on->off or off->on depending on your own system and your generator. But, in my experience, i removed the automation between my inverter and my generator for many reasons. The main reason why i unrecommend is that if i'll do that, my wife and my childs won't integrate that we need to change our living usually to have a better carbon impact. Wiring automatically my generator will say " Don't worry, the current will never shut down, keep the light switch on, and computer switch on".... Because we decided to left the city to increase our quality of life. That means making an effort and burning fuel free to think about it is the worst. Hope it help you.   21. Thank you for your precision. Growatt documentation say : When connecting generator, the generator should be no less than 10KVA(no less than 20KVA for three phase parallel system), and the inverters should be no more than 2 units in one phase I'm unsing one single Inverter. And always in the documentation at program 11, Growatt indicate that the Maximum utility charging current for SPF 5000 ES :Default 30A, 0A~80A Settable. I've configured this option to 70A. That correspond to approximatively 4Kw of Power sent by the generator. My Generator is a 10Kva Power as required. But, even i increase to 80A of Maximum utility charging current (i don't want due to approaching limitation value) i will always be under 50% of my generator power. I don't understand why they says that 10kva Generator is required where a 6Kva can do the job ? no ?
  22. For thoses which dont understand why the inverter limit battery charging, don't forget to update the parameter 11. (Maximum utility charging current). You need ton increase this value and set a value between SPF 5000 ES :Default 30A, 0A~80A Settable. Take care.
  23. Thank for your reply. but i don't have any control of that correct ? Or do you think that require a generator tenician intervention ? I'm particulary surprised that the AC input must be manually selected to GEN. I'm asking myself how the inverter could determinate if the AC input power is from grid or generator ? If they are 2 separate input ok. but in my case, the input is the same. Strange for me...
