  1. Thanks again Scorp007 for your response! I have responded in bold below: 1. Are all panels facing the same direction. It appears to be the case. Yes, that is correct 2. Is there space for a panel either side of 15 and 16. Yes 3. Is there space for 1 panel to the right of 14. Yes 4. The shade is it in the morning or afternoon. Morning I have also researched using this website and created the attached spreadsheet. If I have done this correctly and understand the theory, I'm already at my maximum panel amount, but I should be OK to split the 8-panel array into two sets of 4 each. I would value your input on the attached spreadsheet. How Many Solar Panels Can I String Into My Inverter_.xlsx
  2. Thank you, Scorp007, for your reply. I would like to know the following: Can I safely add more panels, if so, how many? Irrespective of adding more panels, can I split the current 8 panels into two arrays of four each, with each array of four connecting to one of the MPPTs of the inverter? Herewith are the specs (inverter, panels and battery) and a photo of the installation: Sunsynk 5kW Inverter SUNSYNK-5K-SG01LP1 Number of Inverters in parallel: 2 Max. PV Input Power: 6500 W MPPT charge controllers per inverter: 2 PV Input Voltage (Vd.c - volts of direct current): 370 V (125Vd.c~500Vd.c) MPPT Input Range: 150 V (~ 425Vd.c) PV Input Current: 13 A (x 2) Maximum PV Input Current (Isc): 17 A (x 2) JA Solar JAM72S30-560/GR Panel Number of panels: 16 (see photos) Number of arrays: 2 Number of panels per string: 8 (unsure which 8 are connected together) Parameters at STC (Standard Test Conditions) Standard Test Conditions: no clouds, high 1000W/m² irradiance Rated Maximum Power (Pmax): 555 V Open Circuit Voltage (Voc): 50.02 V Maximum Power Voltage (Vmp): 42.11 V Short Circuit Current (Isc): 14.07 A Maximum Power Current (Imp): 13.18 A Module Efficiency: 21.5% Parameters at NOCT (Normal Operating Cell Temperature) Real-world conditions, some clouds, lower 800 W/m² irradiance Rated Maximum Power (Pmax): 420 V Open Circuit Voltage (Voc): 46.85 V Maximum Power Voltage (Vmp): 39.66 V Short Circuit Current (Isc): 11.21 A Maximum Power Current (Imp): 10.59 A Hubble AM-5 Number of batteries: 3 Energy: 5120wh Capacity: 100Ah Maximum Charge Current: 100A Maximum Discharge Current: 100A Maximum Charge Voltage: 55.2V Cutoff Voltage: 47V

  4. Please assist me: I have two Sunsynk 5.5kW inverters with 16 x JA Solar JAM72S30-560/GR Panel 555kW panels and 3 x Huble 5kW AM5 batteries. Eight panels per inverter. I am staying in Randburg, Johannesburg. I would like to know the following: Can I split the eight panels per inverter into two strings of 4 each to deal with shading? Can I add more panels?
