  1. Thanks for your comments. When there is an upcoming loadshedding event, I power up to about 60 - 80% during the preceding period, depending on time of day and expected consumption. Good to know I am not straining the system. Klaus
  2. I have a 10KW Volta battery and a 8KW Deye inverter which allows me to set times when to connect to the grid, etc. I set each time period at 4 hours intervals to dovetail with load shedding, eg 02:00 - 06:00 battery (10KW) at 40%, 06:00 - 10:00 battery at 40%, 10:00 - 14:00 at 40%, 14:00 - 18:00 at 50% ( the sun is now getting weaker, time to build up reserves), 18:00 - 22:00 at 80% ( on a sunny day the battery can be at 100%, ie I start the "night shift" with a full battery of solar power), 22:00 - 02:00 at 70%, ie I am now powering down to make space available in the battery to when the sun starts re-charging the battery. I would like to know whether this setting strains the battery and/or the inverter? In other words what is the ideal setting for both the inverter and ensuring a long life for the battery?

I have a 8kw inverter connected to a 10kw battery. I am missing out on much production at peak times, hence I want to install an extra battery. Can I connect a 5kw battery to the current setup or do I have to install another 10kw battery?

When it is 08:00 in South Africa my Deye 8Kw will display 09:00, which is annoying when you want to set "Time in Use". Does anyone have a clue how to fix this? I suspect the firmware is set to GMT +3 which is for East Africa. Please help.
