One should be able to set the current on the APP.

I wouldn't, getting after sales support from Sunsynk is russian roulette these days. Stick with another Deye

No. Each one would supply around 4kW.

Here is a snapshot of my two Inverters sharing the load. This is from my monitoring software. You will see the total load and then the roughly 50% of that load supplied by each inverter

Each inverter will still be limited by it's individual power limits
Not sure how the DEYE display looks like in parallel mode but all that happens on for example my Growatt is the one displays HST (Host) and the subsequent ones are SL1, SL2 etc, depending how many you parellel.
If you have a load of 5kW each inverter will supply around 2,5kW,  it shares the load at roughly 50% of the total on each inverter.

Two 5kW inverters in parallel will give you 10kW. The load is shared between the two.

Normally you can only parallel the exact same model of Inverter, that is, the Inverter has to have the necessary comms and load sharing boards and Firmware that facilitates the paralleling.

    Get another 5kW in parallel.
That provides redundancy should one of them be faulty over and above the 10kW load capability

So the journey is completed. And the engineer who represented me works on public holidays.
I received the letter today. It tells me "Your installation has been approved based on your compliance to regulatory standards and Municipality Electricity supply By-Laws, as stipulated in your completed application form."
It ties my inverter to a specific meter and a specific stand.
It tells me that "City Power appreciates your efforts on ‘Going Green’ and being energy wise."
It's a form letter. It has some wording about being switched to a TOU tariff, but it's ambiguous and the way I read it, it only applies to post-paid accounts. I've asked for clarification. We'll soon see, because they will need to reprogram my meter if it's not to be used for pre-paid.
