  1. Thanks for the advice. I just want to be sure I cannot mistakenly have the two supplies connected during the change over.
  2. I cannot find a WiFi enabled change over switch. I want to be able to switch my pool pump to grid on heavy overcast days. Currently I have a manual changeover switch to do this function. What I am considering is an automatic change over switch. I want to install a smart isolator/ breaker on the supply from grid. The other supply will be from my inverter. I can then switch the isolator on remotely if it is an overcast day. This should then disconnect the inverter supply. Is this a viable solution? Thanks
  3. Item Wanted: 250W Solar panel Packaging Essential: NA Desired Age: New or used Location: Cape Town Willing to accept a shipped item: Yes Ballpark/Budget Amount: NA I am looking for 1 x 250W panel new or used similar to the attached specs. Any recommendation where to buy? Thanks. 250W VOC - 38.04V
  4. Thanks. Price reduced to R11000 or make me a decent offer.
  5. This is still available. Is my price to high? New is R16900.
  6. I have a Infinisolar V-5k-48 grid tie inverter for sale. Installed in 2018 and currently still in use. R12500.00
  7. Mecer 5KVA/4000W inverter for sale. Was in use for + 3 years (2015-2018) and replaced with a grid-tie inverter. Kept it as a spare up to now. R6500
  8. Thanks. So if set to SBU, will it still share between solar and utility after "battery stop discharging voltage when grid is available" (setting 20) is reached? Mine is currently set as SBU with 20 set as 49V, just to make use of the batteries slightly.
  9. I installed the 5kva V series and disabled function to feed back to grid. With this setup does it still share load between available PV and utility when load exceeds available PV? I use SolarPower 1.14 and it does seem that way. When connecting to the inverter "My power management" disappears under device control. I assume this mode settings is not possible for the V series. Is this correct? Thanks
  10. Hi. I am new to this forum. I currently have a Axpert/Mecer 5kVa, 48V inverter which is working perfectly fine for almost 4 years now. It is selected for SBU with the batteries cut off at 49V. What I don't like is that it does not have the ability to share the load with the grid if PV cannot meet the demand. The load switch in total to utility if batteries get to 49V and it does take some time to switch back to PV. I am looking at the Infinisolar V series (black) which does have this function at a fairly reasonable price. I however does not know if it is selected for SBU priority (same as my current Mecer) and the batteries get to 49V what will it do. Will the load be shared between PV and utility and batteries charged by PV at the same time? Hope someone have this inverter installed to share some experience with these settings. Thanks
