That trace was gold! Thank you very much. I mapped myself some part of the traces but looking at that schematic got me what i was looking for in under 1min (overlapping it over my findings). Still waiting for the valid firmware or a a good dump but after so long i gave up. And now I could bypass that as wifi and cloud was not in my books. Now that I got it talking somehow it seems that the DSP firmware is broken also, this time not out of a botched firmware update but dead on arrival. Someone flashed some firmware on it that does talk to Watchpower only partially but maybe it was built for something else. Basic command works fine, but some are breaking the communication, needing inverter restart. Again, taking the little info i can get without halting comm is almost enough for me, but now i got greedy. I will try to trace the JTAG pins if they are not standard, hook to it, hope to backup the TMS320F28069PZT so this time i could have something to return to after plying with firmwares, as energy conversion works. The DSP board is not standard either but with a 14pin connector with PIN6 as key I might be onto something more standard this time. UPDATE: It seems basic commands is all i need actually. And if I am polling every 5sec (instead of regular 2) the DSP communications does not go rogue. Still do not know why Watchpower does not work anymore (maybe it is more aggressive on polling interval) but another custom monitoring program does work, as i can set the polling interval before starting up. Still blame the firmware for this problem... or maybe the TMS320F28069PZT is not capable enough to handle this (it is and it does actually) or a programming error handling is not implemented right and breaks the controller loop. But the loop still runs because display still works happy, just the external comm is down. Thank you again. Paul

Thank you for this extensive response. Yes, this is a Sorotec communication board. It acts as a bridge between the RJ45 connectors (COM and BMS) talking in the final to the DSP board, also it talks to the cloud via an HF-LPT270 board. It has a capable STM32 microcontroller of its own, more precisely STM32F103RCT6. I found the wrong firmware inside even overwriting the Sorotec bootloader and the rest of the old payload. I tried many dumps found on various forums but none of them talked like its original way. Even its bootloader was cut after 2pages, meaning 4KB out of a potential 12KB remained only. The inverter was built by Sorotec, i turned to flash risk only to fix the communications, after some fights with the vendor, long story. The inverter did not talked ever to me or internet, strangely the wifi board did to the cloud but never with any info from the DSP. The model is not in production anymore, no traces of this model and the communication board that was available 2 years ago, it is gone too. No responses to my email from anyone involved after that old "talk". The board is a strange one, well built but communication... oh boy, hybrid at least, unmatched to any inverter after pin tracing to comm MCU and main DSP. Bit-banging galore they say. Anyone with this inverter could have probably dumped the STM32 and it will be a walk in the park to restore, using stlink of course, not uart/rs232 that is gone for me now. DSP was not affected, inverter works but useless to me without telemetry and parameter change. Collecting dust for 2 years now. Kind advice to anyone who sees this post: do firmware upgrade to a inexpensive inverter only after having all the tools and backups (if you can read them). Otherwise RJ45-RS232-upgrade fail = bye-bye. The tools, hardware and software are not expensive, but you need to do your research first for your own inverter. Thank you.

Hello, I have a Easun ISOLAR-SMR-II-6KW-WIFI made by Sorotec but that is not actually important! The unit works, the comm board does not (anymore) after being flashed with the wrong firmware. Yes, STM32 of the comm board flashed with the inverter DSP firmware, flame down please. Long story, so right know i am desperately searching for a STM32F103RCT6 dump or the original file. I saw on videos filenames like RGB-05985-05-S1-1.bin but no links. Mine is written 05985-03 on a sticker so I was close. I do not want to touch the DSP anymore which is a TI as inverter works. I just want my communication back (dead now). The STM32F103RCT6 was a bridge between the RJ45 port and the inverter DSP that also connects with a WF71 holding a HF-LPT270 board. The STM32 is under the WIFI daughterboard. I identified the pins, actually a full grown connector with 5pins, i have a cheap ST-Link V2 programmer. I just need the dump or the file. Any similar comm board MCU firmware files are welcome, i added a picture with mine. Any help or suggestions are very welcome. Thanks Paul
