  1. one cannot set the FLOAT & ABS to the same voltages on the Multiplus it only accepts a higher ABS value than the FLOAT (I don't understand why not the otherway around) My question is, should I set the ABS to a value that will never be reached (ie 60V) and the FLOAT to 57.4V. with the current setting the charger stays in BULK mode all the time (Batrium just limits the current)

  3. In my setup I have a Batrium connected to the Venus GX via CAN-bus to control the charging of the battery pack. The battery pack is made up of 14s60p to have a 51.8V system (@ 3.7V nominal/cell) The Batrium is setup for Lithium-ion long life, so it should only charge up to 57.4V (4.1V/cell). The remote voltage (screenshot) defaults to 58.1V (4.15V/cell) I did follow the guide from the Batrium site to get the Venus GX setup working, but it is not clear to what the Absorbtion and Float voltage parameters should be set at. To my understanding, their is no float charging required with Li-ion?, but this cannot be disabled on the charger. Anyone here with a similar setup who can advice?
  4. Sean, yes they lost some capacity, as I've used tester cells from 1400mAh - 2600mAh in the packs. fully charged they should hold 5.5kWh The Batrium works wonders (just expensive for us here in SA). I'm getting things ready to make another set of packs, but +10kWh this time with better cells...
  5. Hi, I have a Victron Energy battery monitor model BMV700 with RJ12 cable and 500 shunt (calibrated pair) for sale. I bought it for my system to only realise that it won't work with my setup. This can be used as a stand-alone monitor to determine the true SOC of a battery pack or to be integrated into an existing Victron Energy VE.bus system. I've paid R1874 for it and it is still new. I will let it go for R1,000.
  6. Yes I did. testing them took me almost 3 months... So I've made my own Arduino tester than can measure 4 at a time and I bought a few 4-bay charge/dischargers to speed up the process. Old cells has to be tested before using it in a pack. I had a few that charged up to 4.2V fine and then discharged to 3V with <20mAh
  7. I've charged them up and discharged one at a time measuring the mAh of each. I've then packed 60 of them in parallel adding the mAh to have 100Ah
  8. 14s60p 18650 cells all of them Samsung 2800mAh

My system as follows: VE Multiplus 3kVA, 48V INV/CHR with venus GX Fronius Primo 3kVA GTI connected on AC-out of Multiplus - controlled via frequency shifting to have PV power in the event of mains failure 2 PV string, totalling 3,570kWp that can generate up to 22kWh on a good day. 48V 100Ah DIY Li-ion battery system with recycled 18650 cells - still testing them out Batrium BMS connected to Venus GX via CAN-bus - still some issues to sort out here My system is not 100% working and I need some help here and there as there. A few photos of my setup below
