Need box to send inverter and battery to Johannesburg
Boxman only has the standard boxes. That is a good idea chrisc I had called boxman and they did not have the reinforced boxes. Your idea is most probably what I will do if I do not have any other options. Thanks. Did you get the polystyrene foam sheets at boxman as well?

Need box to send inverter and battery to Johannesburg
I bought new inverter and batteries a few months ago. This is a Sunsynk inverter and batteries. I also have an Alpha inverter and batteries. I have had the alpha system disconnected and I want to send the inverter and batteries to Johannesburg from Cape Town. I need 2 boxes to package the 2 batteries.Regular boxes wont work as its too flimsy. Does anyone have boxes from their system which they no longer need ? I am willing to pay for the boxes. Desperately seeking boxes. I have no idea where else I can source. I am in Cape Town.

Need recommendations for a highly competent, reputable company for solar installation
Hi all, I have a 5kW inverter and 2x 5,7kWh batteries. It coveres most of my usage but obviously run short in winter when weather is bad. Situated in Cape Town. I have contacted 2 companies. The one I paid R750 upfront for a site visit etc. The other waiting for them to organise a site visit. Its 2 weeks later and still have not got back to me so I would like more recommendations. What I want to do is split my load. Use my current inverter and batteries for some stuff and get a new higher kW inverter so that I can add my geyser and oven as well. So I really want a company that is very experienced especially since I am a female so don't want to be taken for a ride which nearly happened before with my current system. Thanks in anticipation.

How to disconnect from Eskom
I'm with Eskom direct and would also like to know how to go about disconnecting. I'm first going to add another inverter and batteries and see how it goes through this winter and then will take the plunge. I currently pay about R300 a month for electricity but seeing I have solar system I will end up paying more basic charges than electricitiy charges. Hell no. Anyone having done this please update us on how it went and procedure.
