javadog got a reaction from Leondavibe in Lithium Battery for Axpert Inverter
    Thanks @Leondavibe
Came to the same conclusion, when running the battery and loadshedding, I have a good understanding what we use and what is available as well as the battery BMS gives me sufficient information. I also watched a couple of videos around charge cycles and realised that comms etc is not critical for me esp once I understood the charge discharge mechanics of the LiFe battery (video below helped alot)
I ended up getting the Shoto 5.12 Kw rack mount battery as my brother uses those in his solar install and has not had any issues over the last couple of years.
Configured the system to charge at 20A and float at 54v, cut off is 48v and have never got close to using more than 30% of the capacity even on the 4 hour stretches.
Battery charges back up in about 2-3 hours
    Thanks

    Hi Richard
Thanks, I will most prob opt for the discharge test.
My wife might finally realise I have lost it if I test my batteries for COVID. ;)

    Hi All
Hope some one can advise. I have a 5 KVA RCT (Axpert) 48V inverter. Currently I am running 4 x 12v 90 AH batteries but I think one or 2 of them have died. When in charge it goes up to the predetermined 54v but when we shed the voltage drops to about 50v. The draw is about 500w which used to last 6- 8 hours (plus) , now its about 90 min.
I would like to know if there is a way to run a stress test or similar to see the battery health?
    Thanks

    I did yes.
Basically got all the needed components from various stores.
Worked out the neutral bar with a combination of multi meter testing and cowboy method, well only one cowboy method.
Ensured I had the correct wiring diagram about 5 times over, ensured my life insurance was set to cover stupid stuff
and then set it all up.
All I need to do now is put the trunking in so that it looks a tad better.

    Hi All,
Just a big thank you for everyone's help and advice.
I got the inverter up and running and we can now enjoy all the luxuries of a modern home such as lights and television during the mandatory community load shedding.
