Hi All I would like to know the approximate life of the Pylontech batteries? and if anyone does repairs to them in Durban, KZN or I would like to replace them. What batteries are recommended. I am looking at the 5kw or 5,6Kw x 4 in parallel connection. I am also intending to replace the inverter any recommendations, Thank you feedback would be appreciated. Regards Veejay

Hi, in addition to this topic. can there be a problem with the inverter. what is the life of Pylontech batteries and which lithium ion or other types of batteries that has a long lifespan and economical. that can be recommended. thank you, Veejay

Hi Guys, I need assistance with what the cause maybe of my Pylontech batteries loosing charge rapidly. The system comprises of 5kw Axpert Inverter , 4 x 3,6kw Pylontech batteries & a centurion solar battery monitoring system. I have had the system from 2018 which worked well with relatively no issues, batteries cycling normally. now the batteries are cycling very often and loosing charge rapidly. I don't know whether it is the monitoring software or either the inverter or batteries has caused a short because my Raspberry pie monitor has been short or won't power up. How do I trouble shoot this issue. Please i need help. thanking you all, awaiting your responses. Regards, Vee

I have switched the inverter on with no issues or error codes. I have removed the cover at the on/off rocker switch of the inverter with no signs of arcing but minor dust which I have cleaned off. Where do i put the electrical tape. Do I need to strip the main panel of the inverter. Good Afternoon to all This morning I experienced an unusual scenario. I have all my light connections, fridges on my inverter circuit while i have my stove on the grid circuit which feeds independently. all my bulbs started to flicker and also the stove indicator light which is on the grid circuit continued. i went to the inverter and from around the rocker switch i heard like an odd arc like noise. So i switched the inverter on and off and the noise disappeared and the flicker stopped. i am just concerned of origination of cause and if this poses a fire hazard as there is no occupants during the day. I have switched off the PV circuit & isolated the batteries at the fuse disconnect and system is running on grid currently. I have a 5 kw Axpert inverter and 4 x 3.6kw pylontech batteries. the system has been running for the past 3 years with no issues, only with slight flicker that cuts out immediately when there is current draw when the fridge motors kicks in Any advise please. Thanks guys, I removed, wiring at the breaker fuse junction on all and put in 16mm welding cable. All joints well tighten and did a test at 60amp dc draw from the pv seems stable, no heating noted but for safety I probably would put in Bus bar later on. All the breakers are Gewiss dc/ac rated according to supplier, the fuses are ceramic gp grade. As I assume fuse should blow at over current rating Thanks guys any more advice or feedback is welcome. dear all Can anyone advise - on how strings should be wired to prevent heating at high amperage output. Insight of the problem : i have 3 strings of 4 x 350w panels - wired as follows : each string comprise of 2 panels in series then another 2 in series and then paralleled to form a string using 6mm solar cable wire each string is approx 18 amps Imp and 80v Vmp. All 3 strings are wired separately with a positive and a neg all wired to a DB - connected to a 25 amp fuse and then to a 25 amp breaker. with 10mm normal electrical wire then all 3 negatives (18 amps each ) are lopped in parallel to a 63 amp fuse and a 63 amp main breaker and then fed to the Apert 5kw inverter with 16mm electrical wire. the same is for the positive wiring. i noticed heating of the wires at the breaker fuse junction and to the one closest to the main 63 amp breaker when there is a draw of up to 60 amps from the MPPT charge controller. (NB : no heating coming down from the string wiring to the DB - No heating going away towards the inverter) i am concerned of a fire , although you can touch the wires but it is quiet hot. May i ask? should the individual strings be connected to each breaker and then to a buzz bar and then to the main 63 amp breaker or how can i resolve this issue. please can anyone help urgently. Hi all I want to get the maximum of the solar power which i am not getting. I have connected 6 x 350w panels in 3 strings of 2 in series and then connected together in parallel and fed to an Axpert MKS 5kw inverter which in turn hooked up to a 3,5 kw pylontech battery I would like to run the load and charge the battery from solar and if solar is not available to run of the grid. it has been running but switching automatically back to grid power although there was over 1kw of solar power available and the battery almost fully charged while the load was very negligible approx 100 - 200w I feel my settings need to be adjusted . on the user screen these come up on display if you press the up and down key : U1 74 20 and U2 04 12 what modes are these? also normal display you get Batt [H5] Load with values. Here below is my INVERTER program settings: 01=SOL 02=60 03=UPS 04=SDS 05=USE 06=LFE 07=EFE 09=50Hz 11=30A 12=46V 13=54V 16=C50 18=BON 19=FEP 20=LON 22=AON 23=bye 25= FEN 26=56,4 27=54v 28=PAL 29=42 30=ALL 31=SbE 32=AUE 33=Eds 34=58,4 35=60 36=120 37=30d 38=dl5 39=Ads Another issue is that if the battery is manually switched off the inverter switches off also, although the grid and PV is available to supply the load. Hi, guys I have installed 6 x 350w panels. 3 strings of 2 panels in series and then connected together in parallel and fed to a 5kw APERT inverter. I feel power production is low. Early morning, voltage varies from 40 - 60/75v dc and power range 40 - 60/100w. This is morning's only yet to monitor during the day as I am at work. What could be the cause of low power output. Help Required Urgently: please find attached specs for my5kw inverter : advise needed from solar experts on breaker and fuse to be used : 1.] between batterey & inverter. 2.] Ac input to inverter 3.] AC output from inverter. 4.] Solar panels to inverter. Thanks guys, The current amperage will be around 9amps as I have 3 x 350w panels in series so the amperage should remain constant. With regards to the breaker and fuse between inverter and batteries the user manual suggests 135amps maximum, should I use a 135amp fuse & breaker or should I give an allowance of +25% or should I go less than 135amps Remember that this is just to get the system running but I need to allow to expand this system, with more panels and increasing the battery bank size Soon after. Thank you, The manual states maximum amperage 135 should stick that or go higher. Also is there a way to calculate the maximum amperage draw from the dc-battery side by the inverter. The minimum recommended battery is 100amp/hr is it safe to start with 4 x 48v 60amp hr batteries,. Thanking you for your assistance. Dear Members of Power forum SA i need your assistance with regards to caculation of fuse and breaker placement between the Batteries and inverter. Also i would like to know what the maximum allowable amperage (current ) can be drawn by the inverter from the battery side.
