Recommended Installer for Solar geyser boosted with gas geyser
Hi, I have a gas geyser running at home, and I want to add a solar geyser supported by the gas geyser when temps are too low. Are there any recommended installers for something like this? I'm based in Midrand. Thanks!

Mecer 5kva Inverter - Question
So had prog 1 set to SOL, only switch to eskom if it goes lower that 12 and prog 16 to OSO (only solar). I can't remember what 12 was, but I'm sure it was to high. And I think prog 13 was too low. It would charge up, switch to battery mode, deplete, then go back to charging from solar. Now that I'm trying to remember, I think the float and bulk charge voltages also impact how prog 13 functioned. I'm probably completely wrong, those are what I fiddled with after reading the internet, manuals, and the nifty guide from this forum. Right now, I have 2x4.8kw, 100Ah batteries. I have prog 1 to SBU prog 12 to 48v (still tweaking, though this seems to be working sufficiently, given the evening and loadshedding considerations) prog 13 to 54 prog 16 to OSO prog 26 (bulk) to 53.2 prog 27 (float) to 53.0

Mecer 5kva Inverter - Question
I haven't been monitoring this for a while, though I did manage to get my settings right. On my setup, it was related to incorrect voltages set for program 12 and 13, this cause the inverter to keep switching between normal operation (charging from solar, powering loads) and battery mode (no charge from solar, and only powering loads).

Mecer 5kva Inverter - Question
So I changed the setting from parallel to single. That didn't fix the issue. Here's the pic of the sticker: And this is the invert PV input voltage at the time it was it decided to stop accepting PV input: I did a restart again, and it seems after the restart it tends to work correctly up until this happens. Is there some logic with the switching? Or perhaps something related to the battery that could be causing this? Also took a look at the settings guide, and the only part I'm uncertain about is the battery settings..

Mecer 5kva Inverter - Question
Thanks @Coulomb. I'll have a look at the settings. Based on the information you provided, I suspect the installation is incorrect but I'll take a look at the settings and apply those. This is exactly what I'm looking to do. There is only one inverter. I'm not sure about the installation. The electrician that did the installation didn't give me much details about it so I'm trying to work my way through understanding it. Thanks. Based on the info you provided, I'm certain something is incorrect, just to figure out what. Is there any way for me test this? Yesterday, I did restart of the system shortly after I took the picture. The restart seemed to have made the panels kick in. It looked like it was functioning the way I expected it too.

Mecer 5kva Inverter - Question
Thanks Fazil. I had setting 1 set to SOL, it was originally set to UTL. Attached is a picture of the LCD display.

Mecer 5kva Inverter - Question
Hi, Hope you are all well. I'm very new inverters and frankly, still really don't understand much. I've been reading up online to get an understanding over how my system functions but I am still missing some pieces and I believe that my installation is not operating optimally. I have the Mecer 5kva inverter, with 9x300w solar panels and a single 4.8kw lithium ion battery. The system is configured to use SOL as operating mode, with the rest of the options on default. During the early morning's, I see that the battery is full and that the unit is using power from solar indicated by the LCD screen but sometimes, around mid-day while there is still sun out I that the loads are using power from battery even though solar is available. It also shows no charging is occurring from the grid or solar. Please can someone explain to me what's going on? Is this okay? Is the unit malfunctioning or the panels not functioning correctly?
