  1. Hi guys. Sorry these last few weeks have been crazy with work and I haven't monitored my personal email well enough to see the notification in Google's inbox as it landed in the updates tab. Also got no notifications on my phone due to the separate inbox tab. Everything has been sold.
  2. Hi Everyone Based on my questions here (https://powerforum.co.za/topic/16209-greenrich-up5000-settings-with-kodak-og-72/#comment-147176), I phoned Greenrich's technical support to get some answers. According to their tech support, here is the best way to use a Greenrich battery with a Kodak inverter (This works for my Kodak OG 7.2 and 10) The BMS cable pinout is the same as a Pylontech BMS cable. If you need to make your own it is basically a two core crossover cable, the pinouts are: On the kodak side: Pin 3: RS485B Pin 5: RS485A Battery side: Pin 7: RS485A Pin 8: RS485B On the Kodak inverter, under option 5, choose PYL for Pylontech batteries. It will set the correct battery values for the Greenrich and allow BMS comms between the inverter and the batteries. I have 2 inverters (A Kodak OG 7.2 and Kodak OG 10), although some of their settings differ, most are the same. The settings below were copied from solar assistant (as set by the inverter when I chose PYL under option 5): Battery type: Pylontech BMS Shutdown battery voltage: 45.0 V Back to battery voltage: 52.0 V To grid battery voltage: 48.0 V Battery float charge voltage: 57.0V Battery absorption charge voltage: 57.0V Max charge current: 80A (This is set higher on the Kodak OG 10) Max grid charge current: 20A I am waiting for a RS232/USB cable as I plan to use Solar Assistant to optimize the settings a little more and run some automations myself, but so far the setup above has been working really well as a basic setup.
  3. Hi Everyone, I am running a Greenrich UP5000 with a Kodak OG 7.2kw. Two questions? 1. Is there a specific RS485 cable I need to use? I currently only have the pylontech one that came with the inverter. Note: I have solar assistant, but need to get the correct cable for the battery before I can move from "Inverter values". 2. What are the optimal voltage settings for the battery? I currently have it set as below, but it seems to not keep its charge at 100. I assume my voltages are too low? Shutdown battery voltage: 46.0 V To grid battery voltage: 48.0 V Back to battery voltage: 52.0 V Battery float charge voltage: 55.4 V Battery absorption charge voltage: 57.0 V Max charge current: 40 A Max grid charge current: 20 A

  7. Sliding down a sensor was my first idea, but I know literally nothing about geysers. How would I go about getting one of these into the geyser? And will it be safe? I already have a perfect setup for controlling my geyser's power (Link). I just need the temperature to be more efficient with switching.
  8. This is what I am wondering. The geyserwise TSE has a screen that shows the temperature: https://www.geyserwise.com/products/geyserwise-electronic-thermostats/geyserwise-tse/ . So the thermostat might not be a normal analog one. I an wondering if I can somehow get that info into a nodemcu or somethibng similar with tasmota.
  9. Hi Guys, I have a home assistant installation and want to get the current water temperature inside my geyser into home assistant. Are there any thermostats that has MQTT or similar possibility? Or a way to hack a geyserwise thermostat to send me that info?
  10. Hi Guys, I have a Roboguard alarm system at home that I would like to get into home assistant. The arming and disarming should be easy - just soldering a button on a remote. However, I am not sure how I can monitor the current status of the alarm. The easiest option I think would be to use the LED indicator light with some sort of relay, or I would need to get another alarm panel and use the entire roboguard system as one of the zones. Has anyone done this before? G
