It is my understanding that the internal logic is very sensitive to unstable gen frequency. You will see a value on the input display when frequency is technically in range but the inverter will continuously disconnect from source if it changes a certain ammount/certain time. Sunsynk does not give the user/installer control over this value and therefore should your gen not maintain a steady frequency you are up the proverbial creek. I am surprised to read here the "any gen on any Sunsynk" claim because in my 10 installations this has been a constant headache. Thankfully my supplier warned me beforehand so my clients are aware when we get started. I have tried dummy loads and even a standalone AVR once but for the most part the site generators that the majority South Africans use as home backups do not provide sufficient stability and there are no cheap workarounds.
