Sunsynk/SolarMD
Volt drop through the battery cable and fuse/fuse holder is 0.7V on both positive and negative. I actually measured voltage on the BMS board and it's 53.8V. I suspect an internal BMS fault.

Sunsynk/SolarMD
Hi all, Hope someone with the same combo can help. I have a Sunsynk 8kW with a SolarMD 14kWh battery. System has been running flawlessly for 18months. Now I am getting a f14 error on the sunksynk the moment grid fails and battery should discharge. The inverter was booked in at Sunsynk and they gave an all clear, no issues or faulted components. What I have picked up is the voltage on the battery terminals of the inverter and battery busbars os different from the voltage communicated by the BMS to he inverter. Measured voltage on terminals: 53.8V BMS voltage: 51.9V I think this is the cause, anybody experienced this?

Sunsynk F26 Fault
Hi All, Last night after (20:00) when power was restored from loadshedding my main earth leakage tripped and the 8kW Sunsynk showed a F26 (Bus Unbalance) fault. The load side of the inverter switched off and after 1min (more or less) restored itself. Since last night we had loadshedding again this morning with no faults. I have a Earth Neutral bonding contactor installed with the signal island mode output from the sunsynk. Any ideas, should I be worried? Thanks

Local Lithium Brands
Thanks, this is useful for victron integration. But what i am actually after is which local battery is preferred and which is best supported?

Local Lithium Brands
Hi All, What is the general / technical feeling on the "best" or most widely used local lithium battery specifically for Victron installations? This would refer to Solar MD, Blue Nova and Freedom Won. Thanks

Hexing prepaid meters
Hi Does anyone know if the hexing prepaid meters plat nice with solar systems? Or does it behave similar to the conlogs - tripping? Specifically the HXP100DI hexing Meter. Thanks

Battery disconnect fuse size
A possible solution is to use a 250A fuse disconnect for each of the BYD cabinets. In this system there are two cabinets of 4 cells each, so a 250A fuse will give 60A per cell. 250x48=12kW x2 = 24kW (thats the same as three 10kVA quattros.)

Battery disconnect fuse size
Yes I agree, I missed that. Another option is to use the mega fuse links from victron. But then there is no disconnect option. I did find a DC on/off switch but it's only rated at 200A/48V.

Battery disconnect fuse size
Maybe a option is to use two 250A double poles disconnects, that way you can break three phases and one common neutral with the four poles?
-
Battery disconnect fuse size
Any idea where one can source 250A single pole fuse disconnects?

Battery disconnect fuse size
Is the above table per inverter in a system. So in a three phase system each inverter has its own fuse disconnect? Again Victron has another view on this: Which is right then for SA? What would the size be if only one fuse disconnect is used then? Also most Lithium batteries does have on board disconnects, is it still necessary for fuse disconnects or can the Victron Mega fuses be used? they are much cheaper.

Battery disconnect fuse size
Hi all I'm getting different info all over. Regarding the fuse disconnect between the battery and inverter. To my understanding it is there to protect the cable, but in the event that the inverter (Quattro 10kVA) can surge to 20kVA - 400A and the battery can handle this, surely the fuse to use is 400A. If the battery (BYD 20KWh) can go max 280A, then a 250A fuse disconnect per inverter should suffice? One should the also limit current draw in the inverter? Am i correct on the above?

Victron and PV inverters compatibility
@plonkster You mention the older SMA firmware will not work, i assume a new sunny boy with updated firmware will work with the GX, only for data capturing? Considering the 3 phase system i mention above, and replace the fronius with SMA, so L1-Quattro, L2-SMA, L3-SMA. Can the SMA inverters be set to limit export but still log data to the GX? And can SMA inverters be connected in parallel?

Victron and PV inverters compatibility
Ok thanks A different approach would be to use two Fronius primo's 8.2kW on L2 and L3, then a 10kVA Quattro on L1 with DC coupled PV. Does the GX setup specify which fronius is on which phase? How would phase compensation work in this system?

Victron and PV inverters compatibility
Question on the Fronius Symo 3phase inverter, I assume it will also limit supply to that of the lowest phase? Ex. L1 - 5kW, L2 - 7kW and L3 - 2kW, will it then only supply 2kW on all three phases? For a Fronius Symo 10kW, is then 10kW per phase or 10kW total meaning 3.3kW per phase?
