Load Limiting Notifications and Communications
Using Sigfox or LORAWAN is definitely a possibility and then using a Pub-Sub model like MQTT. The subscription costs on these techs could be prohibitive though. They wouldn't necessarily need a contactor as most of the meters are able to handle the disconnection themselves. Any sort of electronic/digital signaling will help if anyone wants to automate the shutting down of bigger loads when they go into load limiting.

Load Limiting Notifications and Communications
As it seems that Eskom and the local municipalities are going to be pushing load limiting for the foreseeable future does anyone have any insight into the technicalities of it. I am particularly looking at how the smart meters are given the signal to enter into a load limiting state and how they are signaled to stop? What tech is being used here? PLC (Power Line Comms), Frequency shifting, voltage limiting? Does anyone have a clue?

ATESS Inverters
Hi, have installed two so far and they don't seem to be too bad. The monitoring platform need a lot of work though and is really not great, once I get hold of the RS-485 registers we will probably move it onto our monitoring platform.

Planning a 2 x 3kW Vicron System
Out of interest I was under the impression that ABB was shutting down their inverter division? What is the consensus on whether to use the Victron MPPT charge controllers or a separate PV Inverter with the Victron Multiplus II?

Axpert Error Logging
Hi, Has anyone come up with a creative way of logging all errors on the Voltronic Axpert inverters. I am particularly looking at recording historical data in order to help with fault finding and trending, and am looking to record it to an onsite Pi. Thanks in advance.
