  1. Hello, My brother bought the above inverter. PV panels and 1 battery installed. What I noticed with this inverter. Solar charge the battery full and then disconnect the PV and house get power from battery? I went through all the settings. Output is set to SOL priority etc. I was hoping PV will run the house and battery as backup?
  2. Thank you for all the replies. I just bought a combinder box ready to he installed.
  3. Good day, When I bough the house there was solar installed. I have upgraded the inverter to Sunsynk 8kw, there was 12 x 265watt panels connected in 2 strings, then connected to 1 MPPT. Yesterday I replaced the 12 panels with 12 x JA Solar panels 615, 2 strings. But my Combiner box can take 5 strings but I see only 1 out for the MPPT. Is there a way with the current combinder box to the Output be 2 x for MPPT’s?
  4. Thank you so much. I see it flows now correctly.
  5. Thank you, what confused me the arrow from the battery flowed in the wrong direction. Looked like flowing from the battery to the inverter.
  6. Good day, Why is the PV not charging my batteries? I was under impression the PV gets send to the house load and the remaining to the battery. I have attached a few screenshots. Regards
  7. Thank you, and will this be okey to connect only to the 1 MPPT? I have combiner box installed.
  8. Good day, I bought a house with exciting solar system. I replaced the inverter with Sunsynk 8kw inverter. The PV panels on the roof are 12x 300watt, and 3x 5.1kw batteries. I am in the process to replace the panels and, bought 10 x JA solar panels 610watt. What will be the best and easiest way to connect these panels? What I can see the 12 x 300 been connected in 2 strings. Can just connect these 10 panels in 2 strings as well? Reason for replacing the panels, takes the whole day to charge the batteries. Regards Morne
  9. Hi Moffat, I spoke to a sales person who is big in this industry. He said just buy Victron MPPT. Then all sorted. I used this unit with a Blunova battery for only backup during loadshedding. Was fortunate to buy a house with a complete solar system. Reason for the sale. Regards
  10. Hi TaliaB, Yes the same one. Regards Morne
  11. Good day, I have a Victron Easy Solar 2 3000kVA unit for sale. I used it for back up power during loadshedding. Only problem is, the MPPT is not working. Otherwise it works perfect. R6000. Based, Pretoria East. Mornes
  12. Hi Davy, I’m in Pretoria east, Olympus. Would like R10000 for the battery. Let me know if would like my number, can PM. Kind Regards Morne
  13. Hi Davy, I have 1 battery available for you. Regards Morne
  14. Thank you for the advice. Now the question, what brand panels? Qcells, JA, Longi? Where To buy? Vanderbijlpark based.
  15. The battery is only for backup power in event of Grid lost. The swimming pool pump, geysers and stove are grid tie at the moment. At the moment do not want to go off the grid completely . Just to add solar panels to run the house during the day, if the PV not enough use help from grid, but if the grid is off, battery and PV. We very lucky, hardly get loadshedding, we used 60kw in the last year in battery power. solar energy just fascinates me alot. I was thinking to start with 4 Solar panels say 550watt? Do not want to over the top, and just throttle the panels when the house use average of say 700watt per hour? Thank you so far for the advice
  16. I have Victron Easysolar 2 and Bluenova 5kwh battery installed. Now I am very keen to add solar panels. Our consumption is plus minus 18kw per day. The house idle during the day around 400watt per hour. Just would like to add panels to run the house during the day, and charge the battery if it was used during power off. What brand of panels and how many would you recommend? We have solar split system for the geysers. Regards Morne
  17. Item Wanted: Victron Smartsolar Charger 250/70 MPPT Packaging Essential: ideally Desired Age: New Location: Vanderbijlpark Willing to accept a shipped item: Yes Ballpark/Budget Amount: Neg
  18. Good Morning, is this still available? Regards
  19. Good evening, I am always been fascinated by solar energy, and would like to take this further. After 20 years in Aviation, looks like my career in flying has come to an end, time to make a career change. What training facilities are the best in Johannesburg/ Pretoria area to learn to become installer, and qualify with right paperwork? Any tips, direction would be really appreciated. Regards Morne
  20. Thank you Jaco, starting to make sense now. Please see photo below. This photos below look so simple, but when I look at the installations on the forum, looks way more complicated, lots CB’s, and DB’s etc. Is it correct to say, where the mains enters Main CB, will the output from there go straight to the Inverter? And from the inverter back to DB connected to the ESS CB’s?
  21. Good day, As I am new with solar, busy with all the researching. It’s my nature like to understand how things work. Is there somewhere a link how DB board gets connected with solar power? Still try figure out, if for example run a hybrid system, where is the inverter connected to your DB board, able to feed the house, and the excess energy can flow back into the grid? Regards Morne
  22. Morning, yes thank you for correction. I just went add my all the units I used for the last 12 months, got average. Also been monitoring with Enerfy energy monitor, and very close what I paid for. Been in contact with Jaco de Jongh, he will come around have look at usage. Yes I would like setup the solar right from the beginning.
