  1. Can someone please tell me exactly what Inverter power limiter means on a sunsynk 5kw? Is that the kw limit for essentials and non essensials combined? So I could set it to 6kw on a 5 kw inverter if I have the correct wire and breaker to supply the inverter and load? That is how understand the manual please help
  2. Also, if you already installed a off grid axpert inverter with battery and panels and you have a COC, can you still apply for the registration of an off grid installation afterwards?
  3. Am I right if if say you can install the battery and a hybrid inverter which is on the approval list, and thereafter apply for a approval to fit Panels on the roof. Then at least if the approval process takes months the residents don't have to put up with loadshedding?
  4. The way I see it, any inverter that cannot feed back into the grid should be on the approved list. Does anybody know what exactely NRS 097-2-1 requieres? It would help if we could see the exact specifications Does any body know when this list was created? Please help
  5. Ok, I dont understand, if you are able to pop up from the grid with your hybrid, then you are connected to the grid?
  6. Could someone please help, I am used to the logic of other axpert inverters like Synapse and Growatt, but I am a bit slow in understanding the settings as explained in the Sunsynk manual. I have a sunsynk 5kw inverter with 5350w panels on the roof and one Hubble X101 battery. The system works great and the comms between batt and inverter is working, but I don't know how to set it up to do the following: 1. The battery must only be used during load shedding, but we don't ever have LS so the battery is there only in case something goes wrong with the utility supply. 2. The solar must only charge the battery for a half hour or so to top it up if necessary, maybe 11am to 11.30 am? 3. The solar must supply my load as first priority (all my essential loads are wired through a change over to except power from the inverter) 4. When solar is not enough the utility must provide power to the load. 5. From 12pm to 3 pm the excess solar power must export to the grid. Can someone please tell me how to set the "program charge and discharge" settings to do this and any other settings I may have to set? Just one last question - if the battery is set to Lithium, is it still necessary to set SOC or batt shut down or low batt or charge/discharge amps etc? Any help would be much appreciated Redge
  7. Thank you for this information Ferdie, does anybody know what cable to use to connect A cfe 5,1 kw battery to a Growatt spf500tl inverter? Any help appreciated
  8. Thank you Coulomb I did make a typo, my system is 24Volts not 12V but your answer would still apply. I already have a 20A 24V solar charge controller, could I also use that directly on the batteries with an extra panel?, I know it less efficient than MPPT. If I do it like this, does the size of the extra panel matter? Thank you for your help
  9. Good morning all I have a Synapse 12v 2.4 kw inverter connected to two hubble 12volt batteries in series and two 455 watt panels on the roof. The mppt charger has a maximum of 1000watts In the middle of the day I get about 800w from the panels. If I add another 455watt panel, my panel watts would increase to about 1400watts, that is more than the mppt charger limit. My question is: If I use for ex. 700 watts from the inverter with appliances in the house, and I get maybe 1300watts from the panels, the excess is about 600watts. Because this 600 watts is below the mppt charger limit, will the charger use this full 600watts to charge my batteries while i use 700watts AC in the house? Or will I just lose everything that is above 1000watts? Thank you for any replies Redge
  10. Good day, I have a 5 core cabtyre cable (flexable lead with 5 insulated cores inside) with 380volt rating. Can I use one core for earth, two cores for dc12v to power LED's and the other two cores to run a 220V AC fridge? The length of the cable is about 2 meters.
