  1. Greetings Everyone, Sometime during last night and this morning, I lost an inverter. Upon initial inspection i noticed two things out of the ordinarily, 1. the earth leakage supplying the inverters was tripped and 2. the dc breaker from the battery bank to that inverter also tripped. At first i attempted to reset both breakers how ever the moment i would switch them on they would immediately trip again. When i killed both AC-IN & AC-OUT breakers to and from the inverter, the earth leakage was able to be reset and stayed in the normal on position how ever the DC breaker from the inverter still tripped, i then proceeded to disconnect the dc breaker from then inverter and afterwards was able to reset it, any idea what cause an inverter to give in after 5 to 6 months of operation
  2. Good Day, As the title above states, I am struggling to answer this question, about 5 months ago I started my home solar project. the goal was to lower the monthly spend on electricity. thus far I would say that the goal has been achieved I went from about +- R2600 to about +- R700 per month. with the system in its current form and changing other things like adding solar tubes to an existing geyser, replacing the electrical stove/oven with a comply gas one, and changing all lights to low-watt LEDs and some other smaller things Currently, I have 8 x 12V 100Ah batteries that are cabled up so that the system sees 1x 48v 200ah battery. as mentioned these batteries are about 5 months old. I want to increase my battery bank so that I can cope with the number of times we have load shedding in the evening specifically, and also hopefully bring electricity costs down a bit more so in the end, the question that I am struggling with is, do I get rid of the 8 100ah batteries and go Lithium or do I just add another 8 100ah batteries looking forward too all your input
