@AMalakani Welcome in! I contacted admin @Energy-Jason to get your membership approved, as I promised at AEVA Forums! Thank you Jason! Yeah, I've noticed the higher temperature too, but I think it's all good since it's not triggering any over temperature warnings or faults, so at least it's in the acceptable range. For me, It's just a matter of having normal heat for an electrical device, or always over cooling with too fast fans which is not really needed. @Coulomb Any other thoughts on this matter? Thank you. I will soon take the time to capture actual temperature readings at different times and operations and post it here for more reference and better discussion.

Axpert VM IV TWIN Firmware Request
@WallK, According to our approach of this bug, in order to consider your inverter's MPPT tracker stuck at some voltage, it should stay at that voltage for some considerable amount of time without producing any PV power, like for 20 minutes or more. Mine was getting stuck for more than an hour for each sunrise and sunset back then. But eventually, and unfortunately very late, I found out that most of the 'stuck' time was false as there were some serious hardware problems I have in my inverter due to a very bad old repair I would never recommend such a setup, as every inverter model has it's own "Nominal PV Voltage" which is the point where you might get the maximum power out of your PV panels at that specific voltage (Vmp). You can find it in the specifications section in the user manual, or on the sticker of your inverter. No, it will start tracking right when the PV panels voltage is in your inverter's MPPT range, just as standard. But, it will start withdrawing power right at 200 V instead of the set voltage in the original firmware, this is what the patch is all about. Don't get too distracted by the numbers, according to your panels setup, it's not that high voltage, it still is a matter of minutes for you.

Based on my experience, VM 4 Twin fans work at some high speed all the time, and when charging the battery above 40 A, or load is high enough, like 2000+ W, the fans double their speed. After the latest update, fans now work at a good low speed all the time, and when charging at a high current or having a high load, the fans work at what was observed as the lowest speed before the latest update. I'm very happy with the new speeds of my inverter fans, as I have it installed in my living room and it was causing so much inconvenience for all of us, it was a real pain in the ears!! I believe most updates for the MCU (display) are code changes only for performance improvements, stability, and bug fixes. Exactly! Totally on point.

@mhdite7, I can't help with testing the MCU firmware as I have a completely different display than the VM III However, regarding the main firmware, it seems legitimate as Coulomb suggested, but needs testing of course. How about you testing it on your unit and reporting back to us?

@Coulomb, referring to this previous post of mine, right before you sent me the link to the latest display firmware (39.16) for my VM IV Twin inverter, I flashed the display firmware of the normal variant (22.21). I first noticed that the built-in Wi-Fi Kit stopped sending any data to DessMonitor platform, although the inverter kept working normally and the display kept showing valid data for AC1 output with no signs for the other AC2 output which is totally expected, and there were no settings for AC2 too. However, what really amazed me, that the LED settings for the round display showed up in WatchPower app, unlike with the Twin firmware where LED settings never existed in WatchPower (not even with the stock firmware that came with the inverter)!!! I guess that's another bug made by these amateur firmware makers!! I wanted to share my experience with you and the community, hoping to find someone who tried this with the DSP firmware. Note that all the testing I've been conducting the whole time since I bought this inverter in August 2023 is on the only unit I have at home which is supplying us about 95% of our needs in a semi off-grid installation here! I know, I'm crazy enough to do this 🤪

@Coulomb I think he is confusing his model with the normal variant, cause he is saying that he has the Twin version in an earlier post by him Don't the firmware I gathered in a separate thread apply to his unit? Because AFAIK the VM III normal variant firmware is in the 61.xx range, not the 60.xx

I would have fallen for the same confusion later on after my VM IV Twin got the new firmware of version 70.00 This is totally expected from a team of amateurs not following any standards in software production, producing firmware with random versioning scheme for a huge collection of hardware. Thanks to you, it would've been impossible to differentiate between them without you. I'm glad you're here!

Additionally, I finished updating my MCU (display) firmware yesterday as I wrote earlier that I'm flashing it, but wasn't able to connect my inverter to the new battery, yet! I will be trying again on Saturday as I ran out of RJ45 plugs to try new pinouts. I am trying now to update the battery's JK BMS firmware, and unfortunately I'm stuck with its current firmware because of a known bug but with no solutions even from the manufacturing company JK! Many owners are experiencing the same bug around the globe as I can see on the internet and it is very recent. Unfortunately, we all tried A LOT of solutions to no avail so far, so I think it should be solved eventually by JK company, but I hope that I will be able to connect it with the inverter without having to make the firmware upgrade first!

@Coulomb @AMalakani This is VERY important, an unprecedented FINDING! I just tried the 70.00 firmware on my VM IV Twin 4kW which always had its fans at 100% speed.. and VIOLA!!!! My fans just got smart for the very first time!!!! AHHH, no noise all the time, finally!!!! I tested the new firmware so far on battery only, and battery plus grid, and I can't wait to see what it is like when the sun rises!!! I can confirm now that firmware 70.00 is the very first firmware that has smart fan control for VM IV Twin, at least. And I would highly recommend AMalakani to try the other firmware (68.04) for VM III Twin on his unit, it most probably will give it the smart fan control for the very first time too. I'm just very curious about how to keep obtaining the latest firmware for VM IV normal and twin variants, as we always refer to VM III firmware in forums, which I couldn't confirm whether they're the same or not, but so far they seem very interchangeable as I've always used VM III firmware on my unit. So, yes, this is the very first VM IV Twin firmware and it came with the 4.2kW new variant, as I can see! Thankfully, you came just in time!!!! I just finished upgrading my display firmware to 22.21 a few minutes ago. Unfortunately, I figured out that it was for the non-twin models, so I'm upgrading to 39.16 right away and will finish the process within a few minutes (tool already uploading while I'm writing this) I'm interested in testing 70.70 firmware on my VM IV Twin. However, are you sure you attached the correct firmware in your last post? It says 70.00 not 70.70 I'll give feedback about my latest display firmware in a few minutes. Just to conclude for this thread. I didn't post any more updates with stats from my inverter back at the time because I suspected that I had a hardware issue with my inverter's PV input, and I can totally confirm it now and since back then. Unfortunately, it was a result of a very bad repair that took place when my inverter was brand new (it got short circuited) and caused wrong/fake PV input data and more issues are rising now and I'm in the process of fixing all issues, or I will have to replace the whole unit if the progress is not a complete success. I can confirm now that PV input current and power were not accurate at all in all of my previous graphs and stats. Actual PV input was much more than what was reported by the inverter.

Would anyone please provide me with the latest display firmware for the VM IV Twin? (big round display) I have found display firmware version (22.21) in another post, and I guess it's compatible with my own model. Coulomb, would you please confirm confirmed that it's NOT compatible with the Twin variant of VM IV? I've recently bought a new LiFePO4 battery pack 25.6V 220AH with built-in JK BMS PB2A16S15P and I'm unable to connect it with my inverter which came with display firmware U2 (39.09) which I didn't upgrade yet since purchasing my inverter. Hello everyone, Based on the frequent need for firmware of VM III TWIN and VM IV TWIN, and as I also own a VM IV TWIN 4kW; I aim for this thread to gather all available main firmware, which is always referred to by the names (DSP / Main CPU / U1), for the aforementioned two models specifically. This thread will always be open to newer and future firmware contributed by all members. Please note that firmware for these two models always seem to be interchangeable, so far at least. In this thread, you will find more posts by me containing attached HEX File Only Packages of (DSP / Main CPU / U1) firmware. Each package contains an extracted HEX file only from each firmware version's original full package which is provided and attached by other members in this forum. Again, these files are specifically for VM III TWIN and VM IV TWIN models ONLY; Using these firmware files with any other inverter model will BRICK your inverter! @mhdite7, This seems completely normal to me with my VM IV Twin model (which uses same dsp firmware), that's when using non-lithium batteries and they're fully charged and floating. I've always had this in my inverter stats when I had tubular lead acid batteries (which I replaced very recently). I think there's nothing to worry about.

After searching this forum, I didn't find any firmware with version number 70.04 for VM III Twin or VM IV Twin, and I didn't even hear of such a version for these models. Are you sure you don't mean version 60.04 instead? It's available in other posts, but it is very old now.

Axpert VM IV TWIN Firmware Request
Yeah, I have seen a lot of other members of this community suffering and complaining a lot of this stupid behavior. I guess the only option I have is to try to replace the fans instead of patching the firmware. No worries, I appreciate all the priceless help you provided to me so far. I'll contact you soon to discuss some patching details. Anyway, I had great results last day with the 90 V Patch. Even with a very cloudy and rainy day and only a short period of sun, my inverter generated 2900 Wh, because the night before we had no grid electricity input at all, so the batteries were well discharged. I guess the only issue still existing now, but is no longer affecting my MPPT generation, is the very low current at the start and the end of every day. I'm very happy with the results of your keen work. I will post (past 3 days data graphs) in a week or so, after I put more loads on the inverter to do deeper battery discharges, and so to get more PV power every day. Thank you SO MUCH @Coulomb

Hello again, I'm sorry for being late in this feedback update. I was busier than previous days but I have always kept an eye on the inverter stats. It came to my attention right in the following day (December 1st) of your last update post that there was no load power at the same time of the gaps in the PV Current graph. So the gaps were totally normal due to near zero load power. Another thing, after I flashed the 90 V Patch I totally forgot to do a "restore to defaults" for the inverter settings, so the inverter charger never reached the float stage even when batteries (2x Techno Power Tubular Lead Acid) were fully charged. So I just did the reset to test whether the charger would reach the float stage or not, hopefully today! Attached are the graphs for the past three days were same conditions still apply (very low loads, partially cloudy weather). But I will be putting normal loads (100 - 600 W) on my inverter in the next few days and will be posting graphs again for the last time. BTW, @Coulomb, do you think we can play with the fans behavior? This model is VERY noisy, even with no loads at all, and is SUPER noisy when charging batteries at 40+ Ampere. Surprisingly, this is still the case even while the inverter now is in a really cold room in winter! Data Graphs (90 V Patch) Test 1.zip
