  2. Thanks, The panels are 465W Bifacial panels, ** Just read the specs now, seems like MPPT range is 120-500v, so probably the issue? DC Voltage range is 100-600v Dion
  3. Morning all, Please advise, I have a Luxpower 12K, with 5 CFE 5100 batteries. It constantly complains about VBus over range, I have 2 Solar strings, one with 11 panels on MPPT1 and one with 7 panels on MPPT2 Now, the errors, is it because of high voltage from string 1 or a battery issue? From what I could see the voltage range is up to 600v? Screen prints attached, Thanks! Dion
  4. Thanks Gerrie, I assume the same test goes for installing a gennie into the db? I’ll connect it via a auto transfer switch but will probably allso have to tie earth/netral.

  6. Thanks, have you actually tested with a plug tester to check if a plug trips when you are on battery/inverter? Allso, do you have a ground spike earth somewhere allso?
  7. I may be misunderstanding you, how do you switch the earth when on bettery or eskom?
  8. I allso have a Axpert inverter, E, L and N is wired via a earh leakage cb to the main db box that has another earth leakage cb. The earth is ran from the inverter all the way to the earth busbar in the main db. Scorp007, how is your axpert wired i to the main db? Is there a seperate ground somewhere? My next step is to add my gennie via a ats to the db, but what to sort out this earth first..
  9. I do have an earth leakage after the inverter yes, separate to the main earth leakage. And the earth runs to the earth bus bar in the main db.
  10. Hallo Gents, Can someone enlighten me on this issue, I have a plug tester showing correct plug wiring and correct earthing. When there is power 3 lights are on and all good. But when there is load shedding or I turn off my main feed the earth leakage light goes out. I do this test on a plug that is coming from a solar inverter that is wired into the db’s earth and neutral and live going through a cb. Where do I start looking? Thanks! Dion
  11. Thanks for the info! Yeah according to everything I've read, the settings was correct, but I have a suspicion they were chronically undercharged (Float bug maybe?), both sets lasted me just over a year.. So I'm just trying to avoid losing a very expensive Lithium also.. Cheers Dion

So I have the following: 3kv Axpert clone 24v 4x canadian solar 350watt panels Victron bmv-712 Victron battery balancer Raspberry pi running icc software Forget the batteries, I’ve gone through 4 of them because of wrong settings or float bug issues, all was agm batteries. So I’m looking at getting a pylontech, but the only 24v option is the up2500. Is this a good option, and then where do I start with the correct settings because of the float bug? I only need around 600w backup for max 4 hours. So, what is the best way to put all this together, or should I scrap the axpert clone and go 48v?   16. Thanks, I would have thought the Omnipower batteries was good, but the same hapenned to them? Allthough they laster about a year, Maybe time to get Lithiums? Any recommendations?
  17. The bms shows seperate voltages yes, and charging is fine, discharge the one battery drips very fast. Yeah i know the baterry is gone, what i’m trying to figure out is why it happens, this is the reason I bought the new baterries, the old omipower batteries had the same issue after a year, one battery started failing. Don’t want to replace to have it happen again. edit: Can a bad connection somewhere cause this?

A pic of the wiring is difficult, all inside a cabinet, will try, What thickness is the various wires? - 35 mm2 How did you crimp them? - Bought them pre-crimped What is your charge voltage? - See below What voltage do your cells hit during discharge? - Steady around 25v then drop quickly because of first battery going to like 8V
  19. Ok, I understand the explanation thanks! So.... I'm on 24V, if according to De0n19 ("should be kept under 0.15 x AH rating which is 100AH x 0.15 = 15 amps. 15 amps x 24 volt = 360 watt") I can draw only 360 watt, I need 4 x 100Ah batteries, 2 serial and 2 parrallel, that would give me 24v at 200Ah and 720Watt (30Amps)? Have I been over drawing my batteries the whole time? I would think 2 x 12v 100Ah AGM batteries can easily do 400-600Watt Thanks Dion
  20. Thanks, I understand Ohm Law, but what I'm saying is I'm pulling 600W at 220v, so 2.72 Amps from the battery, wich is fine? Or am I completely wrong? Thanks! Dion
  21. Thanks, I do limit the charge to 15 amps yes, but the draw is average 400-600watt. But that draw is on 220v? Dion
  22. Hi there, some help/advice needed please? I have: Fullcircle Solar Inverter 3Kw, same as Axpert I assume Victron BMV-702 BMS Victron Battery Balancer 4 x 400 Watt Solar Panels Currently 2 x Inkwenkwezi GEL-VRLA 100Ah Batteries, in Series for 24V Had 2 x Omnipower AGM/Gel 180Ah Batteries, see issues below My Issue: First battery in the bank died, when there is load (~400-600Watts) the first battery would very quickly go down to 8-10Volts, causing the overall to go down to 21V then the inverter switches off, second battery fine. I then replaced these batteries with the Inkwenkwezi ones (Didn't have a lot of money). The Omnipowers lasted about a year before they started doing this, now the Inkwenkwezi batteries are doing the same after a month, first battery very quickly drops to 8-10 volts then shuts down. What am I doing wrong? Why would the first battery in the bank always die? I can share all my settings but there is so much I would first like to heard what should be checked, then we can go from there, VERY simple drawing included as setup, Thanks in advance! Dion
