November 23, 20214 yr There are public chargers available. It also depends on how far these people drive every day, when and how much they need to charge. If they drive short distances or infrequently, charging frequency can be vastly reduced, and that can then be done at a public charger maybe. For street parking and charging, it's normally AC charging at a few kW only. Charging infrastructure is actually extremely simplistic. The actual charger (AC anyhow) are in the car. The charging (so called) adapter that plugs into the car, is not really the charger. Its just a box to control the energy flow and safety. It also tells the car charger how much energy can flow to the car, ie. the max kW it can deliver. So it's really only an extension cord, some of the units does have long cables that should be able to reach the street.

The police will come knocking on your door, threatening to put surveillance cameras outside your front door because somebody could fall off their skateboard or trip because of that wire you ran out of your house onto a public thoroughfare. You don't even want to think about what might happen in Switzerland. Edited November 23, 20214 yr by Bobster
