October 5, 20214 yr Hi Good people. I am not technical but i need help in the simplest form. I am running a small offgrid solar system - Axpert 3kva VP - 3000w 24V inverter & 2 by 200ah agm batteries with 4 by 330w panels on the roof. It has been doing good and serving it purpose since 2019 but the batteries needs replacement now. Can i replace the aging batteries with 24V Pylontech US2500 by 2. How practical is that? Are there any other suggestions on battery since i have 24V inverter. As i stated above, the 2 by 200ah batteries were working well for my requirement so i am not going into detail how i use the system
October 5, 20214 yr Yes. You can. I don't believe there exists a US2500 (I could be wrong), maybe a country specific thing. Not sure. In SA the UP2500 is what's available from my understanding. I was running a UP2500 on an Axpert 3Kva and it worked well. Was forced to set the battery to USE though with statically defined settings because apparently there was/is no BMS integration options. Might be different for you and the inverter you're using. Also had panels connected to it which happily ran the load during the day with the battery SOC at 100%.

You will get 5kWh of storage with +10yrs life vs the just under 2kWh and upto 3yr life of your gel batteries. UP2500 needs CAN port comms with your inverter if you wish it to dynamically control your inverter charging.
