Hi everyone, first post here. Was hoping someone might be able to assist me with the correct settings for this inverter & battery combo seeing its the 24v variant. For some reason, the battery used to charge up, AC/INV would be on and the charge light would shine up if the battery has been off mains for a while. I came back home to contant beeping to find the inverter powering on and off non stop and the soc light on the battery sitting at 1. So I powered the battery off and back on and it immediately went into protection mode.

Now im not sure if perhaps my settings on the inverter are incorrect but now since the battery went into protection, the inverter isnt charging at all and when the inverter is stable, it goes straight to bypass and wont charge. Unfortunately I have no option for PYL on this unit and have selected it to the USE option under battery selection and somehow cannot get this battery to charge.

I have tried 2x 105ah discover batteries and everything works perfectly, just cant seem to get the pylontech to run on this unit.

Anybody who might have this same kind of configuration who might be able to assist? Would be greatly appreciated!

If you're not changing the charge voltage settings, then you will over-charge a lithium battery; they require a lower charge voltage.

First set battery type to USE (setting 05). I would set setting 26 (bulk/absorb charge voltage) to 27.6 V, and the float voltage (setting 27) to 27.0 V. Cutoff voltage (setting 29) about 24.0 V, you may need to fiddle with this to stop low battery voltage warnings.

What is the battery SOC? (As reported by the battery, not the inverter).

Thanks for the quick feedback! i'll be giving those changes a try this AM. The LED's on the battery are showing the red protection led, flashing alarm orange led and one green flashing led on the lower scale of the battery charge bar. This only comes on after the "tripping inverter" scenario happens though where the inverter is on and off in short bursts. If i remove all power from everything, power the battery on, turn mains power on then apply the power on switch on the inverter then the battery shows a solid single green led and the orange alarm led.

Ah. That sounds like it's nearly flat, not too full as I was assuming.

So you know the sequence for resetting the battery? I don't own a Pylontech or similar, so I don't know it. But I think once it gets into a panic state, you have to reset it, and it's not totally obvious how to do it. Maybe it freaked out some time ago, perhaps from overcharging, but now it's self-discharged.

That sounds like the inverter is drawing enough power for the battery to disconnect in panic, then reconnects because it recovers, and the process repeats. Perhaps your battery (one module only?) is too small for the inverter that you're using. Maybe you just need to limit the loads until you can get more battery modules. I'm guessing that you have a high inrush load, like a fridge, that draws much more power (say 1 kW) starting up than running (say 140 W).

Thinking it might be a bit too flat, unfortunately not entirely sure how to run a reset on the battery, will have a look around and see what I can do. As for the inverter, there's no draw on it at all when it starts restarting, thinking perhaps that it might be due to the low state of the battery and it's currently set to SOL. Should i maybe try to change it over to UTL? Also, when it does come on, it's staying in bypass and wont switch to charge. Do you perhaps think it might be due to the battery being too low and needing a reset?

I assume you mean for battery charging. I don't believe that this will help. The Solar Charge Controller should be able to charge the battery even with the power switch in the off position.
