Mecer King & Pylontech Issues

Featured Replies

I have a home UPS consisting of 2 x 5kW Mecer Axpert Kings in parallel, serviced by 4 x US3000 Pylontechs.  Two issues that I have picked up.  1.  When my Sub-DB change over switch is on inverter, my “slave” inverter does not see the batteries as fully charged and appears to be in charging mode even though the Pylontech led indicator lights show them as being fully charged.  My “master” inverter does not present the same - it’s battery bar is full.  2.  When I switch my Sub-DB changeover switch back to utility side, my slave inverter suddenly shows the battery indicator bar as full.  But, leaving the change-over on utility then results in the master Pylontech, after about 2 days, starting to display a solid red alarm light, which suggests that when the change over switch is on utility the Pylontechs do not hold their float.  All my settings on the two inverters appear to be correct for Pylontechs.  Can anyone perhaps explain why I am seeing these issues?

I have Kings in parallel and Pylontechs so I might be able to help, but you really need to post more information on your setup.

  • Are you using the Kings in USE or PYL mode, or ICC or some other management software?
  • The firmware version and all the settings on the Kings.
  • Ideally also some photos of the inverter screens.

Also, a Raspberry Pi was installed, so the comms cable that came with the Pylontechs was replaced by Pi cable, which is connected on the “Console” port on the primary battery - see pic
