Posted January 6, 20223 yr Evening I am new to this forum and first time posting. I am definitely not a fundi when it comes to electronics. I have an issue where I keep having an F08 error and everything turns off. Rubicon gave a loan inverter which ran for 2 weeks then the same thing is happening. The technician seems to think it is the battery so switched the slave and master around. Worked fine for 7 hours and poof F08 error all the lights turnef off again. Load is 8% so not very high at all. Trouble is it turns off at random times. I cannot seem to get answers and I am tempted for them to take the wholes system back. Not what I was expecting. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

Fault code 08 is bus voltage too high. There is a known issue with the 450 V and 500 V max PV models (that includes the Axpert/Synapse MAX, presuming for now that they are genuine and not clones), where with some less expensive PV panels and wet weather, there is a freakish rectification of mains half cycles superimposed on the PV wires (it's inherent in the high PV voltage design) that causes the bus voltage to become excessive. I've read somewhere that this only happens at night, and the "solution" is to disconnect the PV inputs at night. There have even been circuits published that automatically disconnect the PV at night, and reconnect around dawn. Awful I know, but that's the nature of electrically leaky panels and the high solar charge controller design. I think I need to write another FAQ on this.
January 7, 20223 yr Author Thank you for the advice I have passed this onto the supplier who did the installation. Thank you.
