Influence of grid power cable fault on inverter

Featured Replies

A couple of months ago we had a utility supply cable fault, which caused a 160V between the shower floor and the tap. While waiting for ELM to repair the cable, I installed my own extra earth rod but it didn't help.

When I disconnected the earth wire in my budgie box the fault was gone. I could light up a 50w globe, between the earth wire coming from the utility box and the earth wire to my house. The earth/neutral buss link in the utility box, glowed different shades of red during that time.

Now my question is: if this happen again could it damage my inverter?
