Good Morning. I had my Kodak inverter installed yesterday. Unfortunately my DB board is near my room and the buzzing from the fan inside the cupboard is already driving me 'nuts'. Can I soundproof the cupboard without the inverter overheating? Please help. The batteries are in the top part of the cupboard which has separate doors! 

Please help.

If you can have some form of chimney, for the heat to migrate up and out and possibly  at the bottom, some form of air inlet, then soundproofing is certainly an option, I'd look at whether the temperatures in the cupboard for starters are ok and that the inverter is not getting too warm for starters. After all, if there is no air in and out of the cupboard, this is likely to be a problem that would need addressing before the noise issue can be addressed.

Without knowing what the layout of your house is like, its difficult to recommend other options, but the inverter does not have to live next to or near the DB, it will have to be cabled to the DB, power from external supply and power back to the DB to power what needs to be powered, so, call it 6 individual conductors/wires of sufficient diameter.

Install vent at bottom of door and computer fan at top into ceiling to exhaust. Then soundproof doors.
