March 15, 20224 yr I have a DIY battery with a ant bms. I added a victron BMV monitor with a (ve.direct cable) to get SOC for ICCsoftware with a axpert inverter). Problem i am having is that the bmv over time looses the correct state of charge (compared to the BMS which appears to be more correct) Overtime the BMV shows a lower SOC compared to what the battery actually is. (when cells get to around 3.4 they should be showing near 100% SOC on the BMV) Not sure if anyone know the correct settings on the BMV.. there was a long list, i guessed most of settings so not sure what others have used. I charge the battery to 54.4v which should be close to 100% SOC right..? Still need to spend time fine turning the BMV, thought I could start here:) Many Thanks, Ian Edited March 15, 20224 yr by IanLaing
March 18, 20224 yr Could it perhaps be a calibration issue? Sorry I do not own such a shunt. I do have plans to build one into my own DIY battery too.
March 18, 20224 yr Author Mmm, i don't think so.. Must be a the shunt setting I need to change.. Maybe my voltage on the shunt is set to high and so when reaching full charge (based on voltage) its not "resetting" back to 100%.... Guessing at this point.. Will have a look at the shunt setting in due course.. Hoping other have set these shunts up if there is something I can look out for.. Could not find the settings for a 16s battery.. Good Luck with your build! building DIY LI Ion batteries is not for the faint hearted! Edited March 18, 20224 yr by IanLaing
