I have recently had a hybrid 3.6kw solar system installed at my house, this is more power than i ever use so i am curious to find out why the control panel always shows a small amount of power, around 20 watts coming from the grid.

Can anyone please enlighten me ?

Hi There,

Depending on your inverter settings/type, that may be to prevent back-feed to the grid if its a grid-tie system.
Else it could simply be the power required to keep the inverter alive.

More info about your system may assist people giving more accurate answers :)

Thanks for the info, my inverter is Deye brand which looks exactly the same as a Sunsynk, it is 5kw and the battery is a 7.5kw 48v felicity solar, i have 8 x 450v panels, everything is Chinese.
