May 28, 20224 yr Hi all I have a 3kva inverter plus 2 x 100a gel batteries and a 455w solar panel. Will this work and how many hours of power will it give me? Many thanks

Many thanks 1st of all you need to provide the info of what the load will be. Also in which province as the Cape is heading into their winter rainy season with very little sunshine. It will work with the 455W panel if it is the Axpert type with solar controller with max PV input of 146V.
May 29, 20224 yr As Scorp007 says you need to provide more info. However, as a rough estimate and assumption I would say that this is a 24V system. Your battery will be in series to make up the 24V and that gives you 100ah = 2400Wh. Your inverter is capable of 3000W at full power output. So 3000W÷2400Wh is less than an hour. But that would be to deplete the battery to nothing so you would not do that at all. You need to leave at least 50% left over otherwise this battery pack wil go to the bin. The basic calculation will be to take your load in watts and divide it by 1200Wh to give you an estimate of the time of useful power use for such a system.
