How to connect 2 x Pylontech US5000 to Axpert Kodak OG10 Inverter

Featured Replies

Need assistance please. How to correctly connect communications cable two plylontech US5000's to Kodak Inverter.

Will the communication cable that comes with the inverter work? because there is no communication cable in the cables pack anymore

Hi Pieter,

The Kodak will have been supplied with a Pylontech Cable in the box of the OG10.0. The cable is marked one side with Pylon. That side goes to the battery and the other side to the inverter. Menu setting 5 must be set to PYL and once it's all plugged in you will find the L-ion logo and battery symbol flashing on the inverter display. This is the sign that the battery and inverter have established the correct communication. An indication that it has failed is Error 61. This will eventually disable the inverter and no charge or discharge will take place.

The Kodak uses the RS485 communication protocol from the Pylontech. I am not so familiar with the UP5000 but make sure you use the RJ45 port that is labelled RS485 on the Battery.

Some further points to this include, setting up the discharge limit of the UP5000 in the menu option 41 on the OG10.0. Your Pylontech will not be able to deliver the 200A DC that the OG10.0 is capable of. So in menu setting 41 the OG10.0 and the Axpert MAX have available a discharge limit for smaller battery banks for protection. When the Inverter is in SBU mode with the grid available, the machine will bypass and take it's energy from the Grid if you exceed the Amperage of the battery. However, when the Grid is not present or its loadshedding, the Inverter will power trip and will not switch on again until the load has been reduced. It will switch on again but the same trip will be a reoccurring event unless the load is reduced to below the Batteries set limit in menu option 41.

You would need to create a cable, I had to crimp a cable for my US3000C with Axpert inverter
