Growatt SPF 5000TL HVM-P settings

Featured Replies

Hi

I have a growatt SPF 5000TL inverter with 4 gel batteries, I get an error message 52 (Bus voltage is too low). How do I check if the inverter settings are correct, currently it is set like below

I don't know this inverter but I would change the Battery to mains up to 49-50. Mains to battery 52. The most important one will be to up the cut off to 46 to prevent batteries dying on you in a very short time. They expensive so reduce the deep discharge.

Other members might provide different settings.

The Bus Voltage too Low on Growatt normally means more power draw than what the battery can deliver or in excess of around 4000W demand for a short period on battery alone.
That at least is what I have learned/observed with my Inverter over time. I don't think it is caused by any of your settings. Perhaps you can expand under what conditions you have experienced this and whether you were able to determine the power draw at the time that this happened. Does this happen during solar input or just when it runs on battery? Not even sure if you have solar as it is not mentioned.
Also be aware that I have a Lithium Battery which does not experience the same Voltage drop under load as a conventional battery would.
Or is your system currently in a shutdown mode with that error message without any load? If this happens without any load or light loads then I would summise either a bad/faulty battery or a fault with the Inverter bus voltage circuitry/sensor.
The only thing I would suggest is to up the Battery to mains voltage to try and prevent low battery voltage under load, i.e. as @Scorp007suggested. That would give you a bigger margin and prevent a voltage drop below 42V under loads.

Thank you for the assistance, I did the changes as suggested. Error stopped when I changed the earth cable, will leave it as it is and check tomorrow

What did you exactly? Have the same issue with my mpp solar 5048mkx (270v, 13a pv, 48v battery with 280a).

We changed the earth cable from the DB board to the inverter
