July 27, 20224 yr Hi, I am hoping someone can help with advice on the setup on my 5 Kva Axpert inverter with 2 x Pylontec 3000 batteries, 4kw solar panels (12 330W panels set up in 4 strings). We put a second battery in recently in order to use this as a power source during the evening or when there is not enough solar, so the aim is to draw down half the battery power and keep the remaining half for load shedding. The installers have set it up with the following settings, however, it does not seem to be using batteries properly and the inverter is always kicking in, even during the night when the load is at its lowest. The fan is basically on and off all the time which does not seem correct. Any advice appreciated to get this working correctly, else i may upgrade to a better inverter with easier control but i do not think that is the issue. July 27, 20224 yr Firstly I would get the battery BMS to talk to inverter if possible. I would then invest in Solar Assistant to run the system for you.

I previously had ICC running but now I see I need a different cable as the new battery is the 3000C and the old is a 3000. The 3000c has the ethernet console port and not the telecom port as previously. I struggled to get ICC setup originally, is Solar Assistant easier to use and setup?

You can buy the package with SD card. If you already have a Pi, you can then order and download the SD card image to get going. The setup is as simple as getting your Pi onto your Home Network via WiFi or Lan after connecting the cable/s to your inverter and battery. With the settings as posted, and no ICC/Solar Assistant, it has to work from battery voltage, and LFP battery voltage at 50% SoC is much the same as at 20% and 80%. The voltage varies more with load than it does with SoC. So trying to change behaviour at 50% SoC is pretty hopeless.
