8kW Sunsynk Hybrid Inverter App Setting

Featured Replies

I would like the inverter to be setup to Supply essential loads first via PV only then feed to non essential side with no feedback past CT meter.

Could anyone assist? Attached app settings page for work mode;

Kind regards

I installed my Sunsynk last week and through a lot of help from other members like Mzezman and others as well as the Sunsynk support team in Europe I have set it up as follows.   Just one misconception, do not tick "Solar Export"  - I was advised that if I tick "Solar Export"  all excessive power generated by the solar panels will flow to the non-essentials after the essential load is met and batteries are at 100% SOC.  This is actually wrong  "Solar Export" is disabling the CT-coil and is pushing directly back into the grid if ticked (according to the Sunsynk Support Team)

This is my setup which I experienced to work perfectly well:

My trickle feed is set at "0"    I have a pre-paid meter which trips anyway, even if I pushed the trickle feed up to 300w.   Remember you pay for the trickle feed watts, becausse you are pulling these watts in from the grid (even if it is 20w) .   I was advice to contact the munisipality and to request them to install a different prepaid meter which doesn't trip.  However until I can do that, for now I just switch the AC supply to the inverter off, then I can view the balance on the prepaid meter and/or ad some pre-paid electricity onto the meter.  Then I reconnect the AC supply to the inverter - and disconnect the tripping pre-paid meter.

Select Zero Export

Mzezman, I just saw you idicated "Select Zero Export".    I've selected "Zero Export + Limit to Load Only"   Does my selection perhaps prevents that the power generated by the Solar Panels also to flow to the non-essentials (because i selected "Limit to Load Only")

Yes - by limiting it to the load it will only power the essentials. You want Zero Export ticked but Limit to Load unticked

I do fins the logic behind the SS menu confusing at times - i hope they rework / reword it

Thanks mzezman.  I find the app also not very clear, the graphs is completely confusing with the colours not distincly different.  I've ordered a Raspberry Pi and going to use the new SMH for Sunsynk from Centurion Solar.  Used the SMH for Axpart previously and found it very good.

After reverse feeding the grid with about 8Kw I have found that the following settings are correct:

Also this specific setup will not be using battery at night, but only limited to using it during load shedding.

As always thank you for all replies to my post.

Hi there

I am new to this and not very techy so........

Can you help me with how I can set up my system to do the following

I want to minimise the return to the grid as my provider has told me they will not pay for anything I return (!)

So I want my household to run from everything in the battery or generated by the panels, preferably with what I am generating 'live' being the first port of call for the load from the house.

Then I want what I generate to go into the battery when I am generating in excess of the load demand of the house.

I get cheaper electricity during the night and I have managed to set my battery to charge up on the cheap rate at night.

Any advice gratefully recieved.

My installer has been helpful but they have not installed many sunsynks so they are learning too

Sunsynk hybrid 8kW inverter, using the Sunsynk Connect App on Android phone: Referring to Equipment/Settings/Grid Settings.  I wanted to change the Reconnect time to 600 (5 minutes) but would not save the change as a whole lot of settings are currently set as "0", ie. Normal Ramp Rate, Reconnect Ramp rate, Low frequency, High frequency, Low voltage, and whole lot of others as well.   Off course I can simply change the Reconnect time on the Inverter (which I will do now - the other settings does not appear on the Inverter).  It will be good if someone in the know can post the recommended numbers for the Grid Settings (South Africa), not knowing what the impact of not setting the numbers or having set numbers outside the range.
