Deye 5 kw inverter - solar panels required

Featured Replies

Hi all

i purchased a Deye 5kw inverter and currently looking just to subsidize my Eskom account.

Batteries will be added at a later stage  , i do have limited roof space and i am looking at 6x 540w Canadian Solar panels to start off with.

will these panels be compatible ?

The Deye 5k has 2 MPPT controllers.
1 string of 6 x 49.2V = 295.2V
2 strings of 3 x 49.2V = 147.6V - this is too low for the MPPT

Just ensure you don't exceed the max Voltage per MPPT - 425Vd.c
The below table is from SunSunk 5k, Deye should be the same:

Hi 👋

busy specking my solar panels. Did the math and im sure i can run 7 x 545w panels per mppt on deye 5kw. Thus 14 in total. The voltage per string is within mppt range. But according to an article i read, one can spec the voltage to the max pv input which is 500v??

yes i also compensated for temp drop

lastly the deye is rated at 6500w max.  Is that per mppt or in total? As 14 x 545w would exceed that

6500w is in total for the inverter - you CAN overspec this as you would get benefit in winter.

What is the VOC of the panels? That VOC * number of panels per string should not exceed the mppt max input voltage (not the pv max voltage)
