November 14, 20223 yr Hi All Some advice please, hopefully someone has come across a problem like this before.. So i have had a 5000l water tank and DAB esybox mini installed at my home to get off municipal water about a week ago. The tank is being fed by a borehole. This does not supply my irrigation system, its purely used for water consumption in the house. Issue i have is the dab comes every 20 or so minutes to "re-pressurize" the line to 2.6bar (default setting) even when there is no "demand". The minimum pressure set on the dab is 1 bar under max ( essentially 1.6 bar). There are no leaks left that i could find ( yes checked basins, toilets, dishwasher, shower, washing machine). This potentially points to either there is an small underground pipe leak or that where the dab booster pump was connected to the "mainline" should have been after the "master control valve/pressure control and expansion valve" and not before, as i was told by the master control valve's purpose is to reduce pressure on the "line". A potential solution is to install an inline Pressure tank to assist with the pump stop/starts... but this i feel is a bandaid and not a proper fix.. Any advice is welcome.. November 14, 20223 yr There are many ways a pipeline can loose pressure. Leaking geysers must top the list - their pressure reducers can drip a lot. I have a big Dab system supplying pressure at 4.2 bar - any pressure control system will reduce the waterflow and you will lose the advantage of an inverter dab system. I recommend that you remove this (I had the same and removed it). You can increase the pressure a lot to id leaks quicker

You can increase the pressure a lot to id leaks quicker Hi @Johandup thanks for the advice, so i only have 1 pressure control valve, which is just after the municipal water meter, my geysers dont have any pressure control valves. My plumber says that this must stay in place to control municipal water, as at times it can come in at very high pressures, which in turn will damages pipes and fittings.. So in this case do you think i should move the dab mainline to just after the pressure control valve with a "one way valve" just before the new connection? See image below
November 15, 20223 yr Geysers must have pressure control valves. Mandatory and very expensive If you are going off municipal feed why do you have a connection? My system is similiar to yours but I have changed the municipal feed to fill my tanks when my system is down - which has happened with lightning strikes. If I need to use “paid for water” I monitor it. The opening inside a control valve is ridiculously small so it willl always restrict flow. You always need a non-return valve close to the street to prevent the geysers from emptying into the street. Oh, and to prevent your pump from assisting with low municipal water pressures 😂 My dab pumps into the household pipes with no restrictions in the pipe lines. Google on how to adjust the dab water pressure - it is quite a clever pump system. At 4.5 bar the long hairs are very happy with the shower volume. The kwhr consumption of these pumps is very low. My system has been in use for 6 years and it is really issue free. I have a 2.2kw Franklin borehole pump which is fed from my 8kw Sunsynk inverter with ease. But I manage it to make sure I don’t drain my batteries. I do a lot of garden irrigation when it is dry or hot.

So i still have the municipal feed, purely as a backup, incase of pump or tank failure. i have adjusted the water pressure on the DAB, since we have low flow shower heads (6L/PM) , 2.6 on the dab is more than sufficeint. yeah i think im going to move the connection to after the pressure control valve, and then see the outcome.. do u have an inline pressure tank to reduce the cycling of the pump?
